Personally i'd go for the redmi note 3 special edition (band 20 supported) over this because more powerful snapdragon 650 and adreno 510 gpu but voted hot as i love xiaomi phones

Where's best for this one at the moment?

I've ordered the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 this morning and looking forward to moving over to this. I currently have a Lumia 1520 having been an owner of a Lumia for the past 4 years (1520, 925, 820,710) but I've decided to finally ditch windows phone and move over to android due to Microsofts lack of support for the phone platform.

Think I'm going to get a mi5 or mi5s unless the mi6 comes out with a 2k screen which is looking unlikely

I'd recommend looking at the ZUK Z2. I have one and the other half has a Xiaomi Mi4, the Z2 is a much better built device, and much faster as it has the Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM. It has on occasion dipped to the same price level as this deal.

I was looking at the ZUK2 as well but have decided to get this device due to mixed reviews on the ZUK2. The processor in Xiaomi is sufficient for my needs and the battery is also bigger. Plus it has a bigger screen and coming from a 6" phone it suits me.

£144 I can find it for, that is tempting...

The ZUK Z2 (and the ZUK Z2 Pro) look great phones. Do they have the Global ROM versions? I wouldn't want a Chinese version or a Chinese version that has been flashed with a Global ROM. If the ZUK Z2 (and Pro) have been built from scratch for the UK please let me know?
Also, it's a must for me to have a phone that will have no malware/spyware, and neither the odd Chinese text appearing when using it.

Can anybody advise please? Thanks.

The ZUK's dont seem to have a microsd slot or allow use of one of the sim slots for microsd so a deal breaker for me

Do these phones have OLED it doesn't say

Isn't there something about these chinese phones that can cause problems with UK networks? Like the bands?

This phone seems to have all bands which are used in UK. Usually a lot of the Chinese phones do not have Band 20 which some UK network Operators use for 4G but this phone seems to have it.

To answer the Z2 questions, I got mine when they first came out, and I did have to follow a guide to flash the ROM to an International one. I can't say if this has been ironed out or not now, however it was well worth the effort. The specs are beastly, and nothing can come near them for hardware specs. Great build quility (as Lenovo own ZUK), 5"1080p screen, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage. 64GB is ample for me, and no it doesn't have a memory card slot, but I can't imagine anyone requiring more that 64GB. Plus the Z2 has 2 Sim slots, which I find extremely handy as I previously had 2 mobiles. I'm a techy, so I don't mind spending a half hour following a guide on flashing to get something with this amount of grunt. Benchmark wise the Z2 is scoring around 129000 in Antutu benchmark fyi.

Any idea when this will be getting android 7?

The one in this deal doesn't
IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M color

I bought from this store about 10 days ago and received my phone today. Phone seems good - I got the band 20 version - is this one band 20? My 4g works (I'm on O2). I ordered the silicon case and the tempered glass with the phone but the case is dreadful and the tempered glass doesn't seem to be the right fit for it so I'd recommend against it.

My last xiaomi (Xiaomi Mi4) has a really **** GPS. I noticed others asking about it in another thread. So far, this GPS seems good (something that would have been a game changer for me for this phone if it was **** again) though I haven't tested it enough just yet.

Cheers. Next phone needs to be OLED, browsing at night is a bit too glaring otherwise even with apps to try and dim the screen further.

This is called XiaoMi RedMi 4X in China

Which 'Source/Sources' for your International ROM did you use?, Ps. did you by any chance also use the Indian ROM?, or ..... thanx. :-)

I didn't order any extras with the phone but will need to get a case and screen protector once the phone arrives. Any recommendations on which ones to get?

Look on Aliexpress for the Indian variant for cases and screen protectors, you need to look closely at the pictures as this version came out in January with different holes on top. Took me three attempts bit at a quid each not a problem. Excellent phone, battery life is simply amazing I use it for 4 hours commuting and as a work phone and not fallen below 50% in a day yet. The 64gb 4gb ram global version with b20 is out on 20th for closer to £160 I think.

PS if you get a screen protector, bear in mind it's curved glass so will not fit edge to edge, probably a 3-4mm gap all around.

Thanks for the info on the screen protectors

It depends on your screen. Technically, there is no limit for how dark an LCD screen can get. After all, the backlight is still produced by LEDs. Even color changes are possible, but you need to have the colored backlight LEDs for that.

But I agree in general: for most screen, the lowest brightness setting is much too bright.

PS: Is 5.5" still considered a phablet? I thought that is normal. Or does it have a pen?

Now, if you want to flash it yourself or wait for the official update after June.

Now the screen gets ghost touches, unresponsive sometimes, so bought this instead. Lots of people have the same issue.

Thanks for the deal, cancelled my order with eglobal, that had still not shipped, and reorderd this one as it s the global, and has band 20

I currently have an Iphone 6 Plus, would getting this be an improvement in terms on camera? I find the 6 plus terrible

the camera is not that great. i've had this phone (not global version) for a couple of months now and cant seem to work out a way to improve it. Hard not to be subjective, but my previous phone (HTC one M7) produced much better images.

I bought this phone from (albeit from Gearbest and a purportedly slightly less powerful Helios X20 64gb version which cost 80 quid more) last month, took about 17 working days to arrive and it's a very nice phone indeed... at this price and assuming AliExpress are decently stocked it's defo worth heat. check out the Dux Ducis flip case if you want a premium feeling cover for it.
MIUI 8 is horrible to look at in my opinion and a RAM hog so I'm using Nova Launcher instead (which looks way nicer but doesn't stop MIUI from eating memory). Once my year warranty runs out I shall root it and put a slimmer ROM on it.

I bought this 32gb note 4 global version from aliexpress, took 2 weeks exactly to arrive.

Phone is great, really pleased with it. Very premium feel, i got the Matt black.

I also bought an official xiaomi flip cover with the transparent window. But i cant get it to work with the phone, even with smart cover turned on in the settings.

Have you tried this at all? Does it lock the screen when you close the cover?

I'm needing a phone in a hurry so considering lenovo p2.
This is cheaper but don't seem to tick all the boxes. If the global 64gb 4m ram would be tempting but as leaving the UK Monday short on options. Anything else coming out / to consider i Can pick up relatively quickly ?

I would expect the M7 to have a better camera then the Iphone 6 Plus as it only has 8mp.

I don't think you'd notice much difference in performance between the two to be honest and the 625 processor in the Note 4 is supposed to be more energy efficient. The Redmi Note 4 has a better camera though and slightly better battery performance. In fairness, there's not much in it but personally I think the Redmi Note 4 is the better bet, also taking into considerations that it will probably be supported longer than the Note 3.

Here's a review comparing the two if anybody is interested:

its the sensor rather than megapixel

Genuine Question to the owners:
Would it be worth swapping Samsung Galaxy s7 to this?
Somehow s7 annoys the hell out of me. Is a bit too small, it tends to loose network now and then and I think it is not worth it price.
I do like camera in it but looks like redmi note 4 is not bad either.
Any thoughts?

Apart from the increased screen size and better battery performance, the S7 is by far the superior phone. It might be worth investigating the network drop-out as it's unlikely to be a common fault.
