I will wait for the 6GB version instead.

Genuine question, what do you do on your phone that requires that much RAM?

I wouldn't get the Note 5 Pro as it has less network bands which is only for the Indian market.

Looking at the Ali Express listing the Global Version appears to have all bands needed in the UK.

I will be buying one of these at some point but will wait a month or so for the hype to die down and for stock levels to even out. I think the price will go down to around $180 once all sellers have stock.

That is the Chinese one, this is the indian version.
Think this is missing B20, and UK buyers should get the Chinese one which is the Note 5 (not Pro) which now comes with a 636 (and can still be got with a 625).

Think you missed the point. The difference between this and the non pro is a lower res. camera but all the UK 4g bands. I suppose there's a choice in that, but it's clear to me.

Most people will know if you say the global name Redmi 5 Plus and not the Indian version name as most gets confused with the naming convention.

True, but it is the global version and so supports all the UK bands, what advantage does the Indian version have?

I'm not talking about the Plus.
There's the 625 Redmi Note 5, the 625 Redmi Note 5 Plus, the 636 Redmi Note 5 Pro (India only) and the soon to be released 636 Redmi Note 5. It's the last one you want if you want a 636 and all the UK bands, the only reason to get this one is if you really don't care about the missing bands and want a better camera.

It is confusing, everything I'm saying could be wrong. Just best of my knowledge.

There is no Redmi Note 5 Plus and the camera on the Chinese version is better due to the smaller aperture for low light pictures.

There is a lot of confusion at the moment the first batch of Chinese note 5 are supposed to be available to buy shortly and these sellers are saying it will be global version with band 20 but if you look at the specs on mi.com China there is no band 20 only bands 1,3,5,7,8 link here mi.com/red…cs/ and mi.com India spec for redmi note 5 pro has bands 1,3,5 . I cant find any reference to one with band 20 on mi.com. There is probably one coming but when is the thing in the past the global versions with band 20 had a different modem not just different software. So i'd be a bit cautious at the moment and that's probably why all the sellers with global versions have got the delivery as 43 to 63 days which has not altered since they have been advertising them for pre-sell they have been advertising them for around 9 days now but it is still 43 to 63 days

Global version are sold in HK (but not released yet) but normally 1-2 months after the Chinese version.

Yes i agree i am not saying there wont be just be cautious at the moment look at this seller here he is indicating this is global version aliexpress.com/sto…hCX but if you scroll down to after the pictures of the phone under the heading Please read the TIPS carefully before placing an order! and look at point 3 you will see this 3. Please leave us a comment if you want a sealed box. Otherwise we will unseal the box to do "Quality Control" and flash the multi-language ROM for the Chinese version. The original box from manufacturer is sealed. It's only with English and without "Play Store". So it is the Chinese version and he is going to flash a multi-language rom and play store, and nowhere on the listing does it list the 4g bands supported. so i think it is the Chinese version and he should not be advertising it as global version but global rom. I have the original Chinese rom version of redmi note 3 and yes it has English language and Mandarin and simplified Chinese but no band 20 it is still on the Chinese rom and never been a problem for me. If you compare this listing to this seller you will see he list a specification box which lists the 4g bands supported and yes band 20 aliexpress.com/sto…0KA .Now maybe there is a general modem that only needs different firmware in this model but if it is it would be a first with the redmi note 3 there was actually a physical difference in the phone size with the global version to accommodate the different modem it was a couple of mm longer and was called redmi note 3 special edition and was made for the Taiwanese market at first

Bigger* aperture.
No usb C or NFC no buy
Yes, I think the sensible option is to do what I am reluctantly doing and cooling my ardour for one of these amazing things and waiting for the market to settle down. Too much uncertainty as to what you are getting at the moment...

It’s available!
Gearbest have what looks like the China version arriving at some point ,and they are billing it as having band 20 . Even 02 are using some non band 20 frequency - don’t really get why people get so flustered if a phone doesn’t have it , it’s not as if it’s not going to work without it .

They are all possibles, really are. Not really discernible differences between them all.
If you buy one, you would be happy.
Those mobiles links should be removed. There is no way to switch to the desktop mode and you can always do the other way around.
