As always with Aliexpress purchases, I urge you not to go ahead if you require the comfort of warranty, if you're not OK that there may be extra charges to pay, I'd advise paying by credit card for full coverage, and check the returns procedure in advance as well

Would you get this or the note 8 pro you just listed?

The 8 pro for me.

Do you know roughly how much the custom charges are?

£14 Is the most I've ever had, if you are really unlucky 20%
Thanks very much
@MrSwitch how does this compare to the xiaomi redmi note 9s?
I've ordered one (note 9s) and waiting for it to come, but after i found out what NFC is (:D) and that the note 9S doesn't have it, it seems this is the next closest with NFC at this price?
and if you leave NFC aside, what would you recommend?
just thinking if NFC is really worth it or not lol or is it just a gimmick i want to try out
thanks

Do you use Google pay at the minute?

If not stock to the 9s, if you really want nfc go with the redmi note 8 pro.

In another deal thread I had to check NFC was behind contactless payments. I started using Google Pay a few months ago. It's brilliant, just carry your phone, swipe it at the pay point, been really handy in the pandemic rather than fiddling with wallets and cards. Wouldn't be without it now.

The 9s in my opinion is better, better processor, camera and battery life, lack of NFC kills it for some.

thanks for this mr.switch i think i'll just wait till the 9S arrives and see how i get on with it lol
can't justify the extra for NFC on the 9 pro or whatever its called lol!

May be good phone but why would you buy a Brand from country, which is cause of Killing hundreds of thousands people worldwide....are really that irresponsible.

Look for Samsung and Sony instead.....

It doesn't seem to be widely known how much (Legal) protection you get with any purchase of £100+ made via a credit card, it's SO much better and safer than using your debit card, and if you like, you can pay the CC company seconds later, putting you in the same situation as if you HAD paid via debit card.

AND (I THINK that) you also get the protection a CC offers, if you only put down the DEPOSIT on an item costing the magic figure of £100 minimum.

Because without them, I wouldn't be paid £2500 per month until September for doing bugger all. And also their people aren't killing hundreds of thousands of other people, the virus is.

Buy your Xiaomi phone in peace. Brits have no basis to be dishing out lessons on morality. Do a bit of googling on UK arms sales to war mongering regimes. UK is the pits when it comes to morality. Won’t stop me buying a dyson vacuum. Catch my drift? You not buying a Xiaomi phone won’t change the world one single bit so don’t guilt people on here. It’s unnecessary and your basis for doing so is factually very skewed. Sorry just speaking the truth

In fact you could go 1 step further, and say that "their people" were the first to die?. Those people (in that neck of the woods) being considered to be no better than HUMAN GUINEA PIGS

With respect I think you'll find the 1st part of the comment in question was tongue in cheek, whereas the 2nd part was factual.

Ah, then I still agree
BTW, I was having a BLONDE moment yesterday, TRYING to charge my Huawei Band 4 (I upgraded) fitness tracker, you see I didn't notice BOTH sides of the (snap-on) strap can be removed (because you can change the strap) exposing (on only ONE side) the USB CHARGER

well done 👏
My 8T finally arrived from 'the site we don't talk about' yesterday after ordering on Apr 4th for the, too good to be true, price of £129 including a Mi band 4! I'm guessing that they had supply issues (and, tbf, they did give a 2-3 week delivery time initially). Also DHL from pickup to next day delivery - no more Collissimo making items disappear!

Initial thoughts are that it's a huge amount of phone for the money - lots of competition at the standard £180 rrp, but nothing comes close at this price. Thanks @MrSwitch for all the advice and help

Did you stop buying yank goods after the Aids epidemic started there?

Ah Sony the country that starved our squaddies and used as forced labour.
