GNR TV200 TV tuner add on for LCD Monitors - £6.84 @ Aria Tech

OK Before you vote cold let me explain what it does.

This device screws onto the back of your existing TFT monitor via the VESA holes and converts it into a fully functional LCD TV. It has a built in analogue tuner, and Composite inputs for a freeview box or XBOX etc.

At the current price its an absoulete bargain. Stock is running out quickly so if you want one order now. As its so cheap they are limiting to one per order.

I have just ordered one along with a GNR 17" height-adjust TFT from the same company for £69 including delivery, which is an absoulete steal for an LCD TV of that size.

Aria Description:
The TV200 is a unique TV Tuner add on to any LCD TFT monitor with an un-obstructed VESA wallmount fitting of 100mm x 100mm (VESA100). This analogue tuner simply attaches to the VESA wallmount holes of your LCD still allowing wallmounting of your screen and also allows the VGA signal from your PC to be throughput through the device. Running independantly of your PC, it doesn't require your PC to be powered in order to use it! The kids can watch TV at night on their LCD TFT without the noise or added electricity bill associated with a PC! (Note - monitor not provided)
Please note that the tuner is analogue only, but a composite input is provided for connection of devices such as Freeview boxes, Sky+, Playstation, X-box and Wii. (Adapter may be required, please check your product documentation

plus delivery which i think doubles the price

Yep, £7 delivery, shame, was just about to order.

Bit of a useless device to be honest......
Still worth it, if you really need such a device. The picture for the analogue onto a standard LCD will be out of shape and not really that clear.

Have you guys all considered just to buy the DVB-dvi convertor instead from ebay? Use this to convert anything from your freeview which supports hdmi or even your xbox etc? Will be cheaper!

Why is it useless? Why the cold votes?

If you have an old VGA TFT lieing arround this converts it into a fully functional LCD TV. Clearly people don't understand what it does.

The cost of this + a tft monitor is far far cheaper than ANY standalone LCD TV

Surely the catch here is it's ANALOG - so you still need to purchase a freeview box as well or in 1-2 years its a brick.

But analogue TV is being switched off, so it won't be of use for very long. Even if you live in London it'll be gone by 2012.

I like the idea - and would like to see a Freeview or Freesat version emerge.

you still need to edit first post to include delivery no matter if good deal or not.

and speakers?

I would say at that price its worth it just to add on composite inputs to a LCD to allow you to use a freeview box, dvd player, xbox, ps2 or whatever.

This is also a cheap way of connecting a nintendo wii to a monitor.

and speakers?

Other than Dell most monitors have built in speakers.

As your such a smart ass why dont you try and find me a 17" LCD TV that comes in at under £69 delivered, which is the price this costs ordered with a GNR height-adjust hard-glass 17".

Anyone know of any good deals for a freeview box with composite output to suit this ? How much do they cost?

Does anyone know of a DVB version of this existing? preferably with built in speakers!!

Any freeview box will work. You will just need a composite to scart adaptor, which I doubt costs much at all.

Good deal? ... Guess so ...

I wouldn't use one if it was free, really can't see the point in it ...

Voted hot as it's a cheap way to get composite into your monitor.

Just to point out if you have sky and feed it round your home using the TV out 2 and magic eyes, this is picked up on other TV's via an analogue tuner.
This might help the few of us that get digital via sky.

I'm tempted to get one to connect my XBOX up, but I'm put off because I doubt the picture or sound will turn out that well.
The price delivered is £14.83 and I think the first post should be edited to mention that.

Why not just use a VGA lead into your monitor? That would give a lot better picture?

Delivery cost should be included in the deal price!

sorry, cold for me. Not worth buying for reasons mentioned above, and it's a bit of a monstrosity too... especially at the ACTUAL cost. Plesae change your title to reflect the real cost.

I presume that you mean a scart to composite adaptor.

Agree. They are all voting cold but no-one has managed to find another VGA Box or VGA-TV converter for less.

It really is a wonderful product if you have an old TFT sat arround going spare.

The thing that really ****** me off is someone posted the same thing 3-weeks ago for a higher prices and got voted hot, people are so random in there voting.

also aria has to be one of the worst retailers in the country, want a refund if it doesnt work have to pay 10% (or 3 quid min) of its value for them to check it and then will send it for repair

I'm guessing that people are voting this cold because they don't like being deceived. since this is a web only offer you can't buy it at the price shown in the posting, it costs £14.84 with delivery.
