Just be aware that the 32gb card will store approximately 8 seconds of 4k …Just be aware that the 32gb card will store approximately 8 seconds of 4k footage.

4gb per second of 4k footage. Are you insane? Clearly haven’t a clue. According to this deluded ‘mathematics’ one of the biggest available sd card, 400gb would only give you 1 minute 40 seconds of recording. Riiiiiiiiight..
Careful with this. There was some concern about the £100 off if you take a subscription. It's not free subscription. It's FORCED subscription basically. And if you cancel your sub they will add a £100 penalty for that. So you are basically tied into their subscription service for two years! Dodgy business practices.

never order direct from gopro. their customer service is really poor. you can't even get through to them.

Why are they cheaper with the subscription? The sub is just to replace it if you damage it?

Probably to hook you onto the idea of cloud storage.

Apologies if I am missing something but I can't understand why you would want to cancel a subscription within the free annual period? Secondly, can you please advise where it stipulates a two year subscription?

Thanks in advance
If you cancel your subscription within the 14 day cooling off they will charge you full price for the camera - roughly an additional £150 but you will get a £50 refund for the subscription.
If you cancel after 14 days but before 12 months - you’re not charged anything additional.

The camera is discounted by £150 and you pay £50 for the subscription.

Hot deal!!! £329 for a hero 9 with 12 month subscription. You will not get anywhere near this price at the minute.

If your buying it for the 32gb card, I'd suggest buying a 32gb card on its own... you'll save big time!!

As long as you cancel before your Y2 sub starts you are not charged.

????

Bitrate on these is 60Mbps for standard 4k60 and 100Mbps for high quality 4k60. If we record in high, a minute of 4k60 takes up 750MB, meaning we could record about 40 minutes of it (32/0.75 = 42.7 but I'm discounting a bit for formatting)

I thought it was clear I was exaggerating for dramatic effect.
Clearly not.
Not been happy with mine. Screen is unresponsive and scheduled capture doesn't work. There's an update due in a couple of days which should fix things, but it's been an annoyingly long wait.
If you want one for the nightlapse feature don't bother. They suffer the same issue that the Hero 8 suffer with blue or red dots all over the images/videos. GoPro are aware of the issue but it's been about a year since it was reported and they have done nothing. The fact the issue remains on the 9 proves they don't care.

Also my Hero 8 screen is unresponsive at times too. Seriously unimpressed with GoPro after owning one of their cameras.

They sell the camera with significant discount and give 1 year of subscription for free. Subscription gives unlimited cloud storage, replacement of camera if damaged (2/year) and good discounts on accessories. And you are free to cancel subscription after 1st year.

I think you are very wrong. Don't see anything dodgy.

Ah, was afraid of that (ordered one yesterday). Every review I've seen shows a reviewer having to tap the screen a couple of times to activate something. Probably Gopro trying to find a balance between it registering fantom touches underwater and sensitivity.
Hopefully coming from Hero7 Black it's still a decent upgrade.

That's nonsense. Totally untrue.

You should do everyone a favour and just delete this comment.

It is nonsense.
This is a great deal but was already posted a while back. No-brainer if you're buying the new one! And yes, it's just a 12 month subscription.
This or the Osmo Action?

This or the Osmo Action?

I posted this add as I believe the horizon leveling will be a game changer.

I had the Osmo action and at the time loved it. I have alot of DJI products and glad they made GOPRO review their designs. However, something makes me always go back to the GOPRO action cams... as bad as the app is with GOPRO, I still prefer it to the DJI one.

Damn straight. ^ happened to me too. Tried for months to get my refund from them. Luckily i paid with paypal and after another month i was finally paid what i was owed thankfully to paypal sorting it out for me.

GOPRO.COM are an absolute joke of a company. Because of their poor customer service im never buying a gopro ever again.

Look on trust pilot and see their reviews.
I'll be excited if they put a Micro Four Thirds sensor and put out quality like the G9.

well I ordered by debit card as they have now removed the option to pay by PayPal (my preferred method). I sent my returns back months ago as they charged me more for my order than they should off. anyway... months later I'm still waiting on my refund and I can't even get through to them. I have now got my bank involved. never, ever again will I be using gopro direct.

Wow - having read some of the trustpilot reviews, I'll be giving this a very wide berth.
I thought it was illegal in the UK to sell without having a phone number?
Can I ask why you would need to contact their customer service? Is it just for warranty returns?

I am going on holiday soon and was looking to get a gopro, this one has good reviews but the mixture of positive and negative comments is putting me off. Can anyone clarify?

I wanted to return my gopro max after having it for 15 minutes. On their website they say they offer a 30day return. If your not 100% happy then you can return it with in 30 days for a refund, no questions asked.
Of course no questions are asked, you can't contact them. You can fill out a form to have 1 of their agents call you back. Waiting time says 12 minutes. I had to wait for 2 weeks before they called me back.

The refund was processed on 6th August. I was told it will take 15 working days for money to be in my account. So on 28th August after no refund and no contact from gopro i asked paypal to step in and help me recover my refund. Then after another 30 days of them not contacting paypal either paypal finally put my money back to my account. All in all from when they received the gopro back to when i got my refund it took about 2 months. Worse thing is they leave you in the dark not knowing whats what.

I now have an insta 360 one R. Much better 360 camera than gopros max.

Sounds typical for many companies, did you not like the hero then?
Update on my purchase. I ordered in the 18/10/20 and the product was ready to be delivered 21/10/20. Extremely rapid service. I did notice two payments for the same value were pending, however only one has finalised. You are charged separately for the subscription so don't get excited on the first payment as it will be less the subscription.

My only reservation is that we are forced to use UPS as the courier. What an absolute nightmare of a service. UPS falsely claimed that they had attempted to deliver twice to my address. This was incorrect as I were in the property and nobody attempted. Furthermore, I called and requested that they leave it at a access point. They assured me this would be done but it wasn't. I understand that some senders do not allow this now, but it is wrong for UPS to guarantee this before confirming the conditions of delivery.

Lastly, UPS customer service suggested that the issue was due to having the wrong address on the box and then abruptly hung up the phone. I decided to change the delivery so that I could collect it at the depo. The address was on the box with my phone number! I don't fully understand the business model of UPS but have on many occasions, had this experience with Hermes drivers trying to keep up with delivery demands.
