Goblin Sword for the Switch.

It only came out yesterday, there’s discount for the first week only, it reminds me a bit like that Wonderboy Dragons Trap Game ( it's meant to be a bit of a metroidvania type game according to Nintendo Life, with light RPG elements.

An army of monsters led by an evil wizard have invaded your hometown. Slay as many monsters as you can, collect loot, avoid dangerous traps and defeat menacing bosses, before facing the evil wizard himself.

Features:

  • 89 levels
  • 13 bosses
  • 30 weapons with unique special attacks
  • 30 relics that grant you abilities
  • 14 costumes
  • 8 guardians that follow you around and assist you
  • 5 secret very hard levels
  • Decorate your home with souvenirs

The iOS version has 80% on Metacritic but the Switch version only has 2 reviews so far. I am going to take a shot at this price the cost of a typical breakfast for myself. Especially if it turns out good I’d be gutted that i missed this deal.

What are you up to for Valentine's day?
"Goblin Sword".
Quite.

Snapped this up last night, the nostalgia I get from it is brilliant!

I'll have some of that, thanks. I got the initial vibe of 1991's Wonderboy in Monster World on Mega Drive. That's enough for me.

Played this to death on the iPhone years ago - absolutely fantastic game. Will be buying again on the Switch!

Awesome game and price! Better than most of the overhyped 2D platformers out there that cost way more
Looks really good for the price, I'm surprised it's this cheap. Kudos to the devs.

Is this better than Shovel knight

Well, depends on your preferences. IMO it's the best 2D platformer after Shovel Knight. I play pretty much everything that comes out and there's nothing else that I've enjoyed as much in recent years unless you count metroidvania games, then Hollow Knight is the best bar none, followed by Shovel Knight and Goblin Sword.

It's insanely good for the price. I played it on my ipad and that's still the best game on the app store - better than all of the Arcade shovelware

Thanks mate I completely agree hollow knight is an amazing game!

I'll give it a go then
Got this on the iPhone/iPad, has MFI controller option so played with a Mad Catz pad.
Great little platformer, many secrets in each level. Easily worth the £2.69.
£1.72 thankyou very much Gold points
