A masterpiece of combined gaming and storytelling.

People who don't like it are extremely likely to be the type that enjoy Mrs Brown's Boys. And the same goes for Red Dead 2 and The Last of Us.

It is still £5.99 if we can be bothered to set up a US account.

Did you finish it? It builds up. I feel it got so much better from the dragon onwards. No game is for everyone though, apart from maybe Tetris.

I think I went into it with too high expectations. Some really good bits, naturally. Overall though I didn't connect with it as much as I did with, say, Spiderman. It is a technical feat for sure. And it is a GOOD game. Not the absolute best for me though.

Spiderman is great and I don’t even like Spiderman...if that makes sense.

I would say actually it's the opposite. Mrs Brown's Boys is also dirge.
Btw Red Dead 2 was a beautiful looking game but omg so so boring.

Absolutely loved it, finished the storey on PS Now and have ended up buying it to mop up the collectibles.

Last of us was too slow in the middle, it had a great start and great end but people seem to forget the pacing issues.
Glad i'm not the only one. I've had 4 attempts at Last of Us, puzzled by the over rated reviews. The pacing is terrible. I just can't get into it. I spend the majority of the time fumbling around in the dark. It's not even a good 'zombie' game. Even Dying Light is a more enjoyable experience. I really don't understand the hype that some games get. Now i'm worried that God of War will be the same for me.

For me the Last of Us was a bit overrated too.
I've only bought God of War recently and got round to playing it. I can honestly say it is excellent. Great action, storytelling and graphics, the music is beautiful too. I havent finished it yet because I am doing a lot of side quests but so far the overall experience is great. The game does suffer from 'your princess is in another castle' syndrome and enemy variety could be a bit better, nevertheless, I feel like it's one of those games everyone should have a go at and decide for themselves if it lives up to the hype. If you think it may not be your type of game, get a second hand physical copy and then sell it if it turns out not be for you.

I thought this game was incredible.
This was my first GOW game and I have to say it is one of the best games I’ve ever played, well worth the price.
For the record I loved Horizon Zero Dawn and The Witcher 3, so the God of War people are describing does seem to fit me.
Decent game, but not great. I probably would have enjoyed it more if the kid wasn't such a whiny little annoyance.

Last of us is a master piece mate

On another note with the us version a fiver and creating a us account taking no more than 10 min.... How is this a good price

I didn’t care for it in the first couple of hours, thinking it dull and overrated. Came back after a couple of months break and really got into it.
It would help if people would say why LOU is a 'masterpiece', I always feel they want to believe the hype and don't want to be let down or are just mirroring other peoples/critics views. Not a criticism, It's mainly what I have encountered on many things, not just games, movies etc.

I also didn't play it until the PS4 remastered, is it one of they 'at the time' moments? Like nostalgic classics.

One of the only games I've played multiple times and will probably play it again before part 2 comes out as well. I don't think I'd keep playing it just because I'd bought into the hype. For me the story and the voice acting are both top notch, I felt genuinely connected to the characters and the emotions they were going through. I also really enjoyed the gameplay, having to be stealthy and conserve ammo felt like you were really travelling through a post pandemic world trying to survive, can't wait to see what happens in part 2.

I played TLOU on the PS3 and thought it over-rated but thought I'd have another pop when it was on PS Plus and loved it. The story telling is excellent and whilst I agree (with others) that the "handling" is clunky it's not meant to be a COD or Destiny and it is in keeping with the characters and their journey. It does improve when you can tone down the gun waver or whatever it was called and whilst it's not open world you can play it your way to a certain extent

As for GOW, wow loved it. Great combat, scenery, puzzles and the humour picks up tenfold when you get up the head too

Just started Days Gone and am really enjoying that so far Thanks to top man tallpete33 for that deal

And just to prove I don't believe the hype, I fkg hated SpiderMan . . .
God of War what is it good for
Thanks for the input on TLOU. I will try and stick with it, it's just not a game I am keen to go back to or look forward to progressing with. It feels like a chore just to play and say 'ok i played it', next... I have such a backlog of others I would prefer over it.

Playing this now.

It's different from the other games in the series. Seems more paced, whereas the Greek sagas were action packed. But that's probably a reflection of Kratos being older and wiser now, and not some psychopath hell bent on revenge and bloodshed.

I'm disappointed by the lack of variety in terms of the enemies. I get the feeling they are just setting the plot with this game and it will all pick up in the sequels. Also the side quests don't really add anything, it's just more grind etc.

I'd still say it's worth playing if you are new to the saga, and a must have for any existing GoW fans.
