Saw this on sale in Sainsburys Wandsworth last night at £34.99, which seemed a good deal to me! Can't say if this is local or national as I haven't checked any other stores...

You say that, but as this website is about saving money, most people on HUKD are better off with a physical copy because 9 times out of 10 in my experience buying a digital copy is more expensive, as theres is no competition on the digital storefront, but there is competition between physical media retailers both online and in person. You also lose out on any potential second hand value, and have to download more data which could be an issue for those in rural areas or with bandwidth caps. The only advantage I see of digital downloads is one of convenience, assuming you have a fast internet connection.

As far as I can tell, the cheapest price for this game digitally is £52.99 from the PSN store (possibly cheaper from a third party key seller etc etc but these have their own risks), granted this is the digital deluxe edition, but it doesn't seem to offer much worthwhile other than some cosmetic DLC, so unless you don't take care of your belongings, and are impatient, I don't see why anyone would bother buying digitally!

Wandsworth you say?! Good heavens! I'll jump on the 44 bus now!
Can confirm it is also the same price in Wakefield Trinity Walk.

Probably nationwide.
This is nationwide and has been since the 8th.

Edit: and then I checked my local and it's showing up as having gone up to £47.99 on the 16th, so it might be that nobody has changed the barkers from the previous deal.

I’ve owned 100+ discs since the PS1 days and have never scratched a single one. If that’s your reason for buying digital, try just being more careful with your belongings.

You're right about the extortionate digital prices. Unless you have a PC (Steam) or mainly buy indie games, then you should stick to physical copies. Swap them with friends when you're done or trade them in to get something new. Can't believe anybody would pay £50+ for a new release when they end up being £15 - £20 cheaper weeks later.

I haven't owned a disk in years, don't lecture me on how careful I am lmao. Nowhere do I say it's my reason for buying digital. What about the consoles that scratch disks? Or general wear and tear over time?

Consoles that scratch discs? Wear and tear? I haven’t experienced those problems myself, I guess because I take care of my stuff unlike you who no doubt slings your case-less discs onto the floor when you’re done with them.

Again, haven't owned a disk in years, and when I did I treated them very well. It's funny how angry people are getting at me for having an opinion. Calm down.

I am calm. I’m just disagreeing with your apparent opinion that digital is somehow better than physical. I prefer physical as I like to sell the majority of my games after I’ve played them. I don’t want to pay more for a digital version that I’m then stuck with. If somebody else prefers digital then that’s fine, I don’t really care.

Deep breaths, it's OK.
Got it for a penny more in my local Tesco.

Lol "oh no I've misplaced my disk I guess I have to buy the game again"
Biggest reason for buying physical media for me is the resale value. I can buy games on eBay in pristine condition, play them and sell them for almost the same cost. Only pay postage and eBay fees. If anyone knows a cheaper way to play the top titles I would love to hear it.
£45 In my local store. Will try Tesco.
