HOW DOES GOG CONNECT WORK?

To connect your library with GOG.com, sign in to your active Steam account via this page. NOTE: Make sure your Steam Privacy Settings & Profile Status are set to public.

You'll be able to permanently import all the games listed below to your GOG.com library – assuming you own them. The eligible games are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned for more games to come.

You can connect only one Steam account with your GOG.com library. This process is permanent – choose wisely!

Why would I want to do this?

Why would I want to do this?

No reason that I can see.

Thanks for the info!

No chance of being blocked out of playing a game because no drm.

also bonus media like wallpapers and soundtracks

I have a GOG account and and an extensive Steam library but going by the grade of games in that list, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything or running any kind of risk by not doing this.

Why would you not?

I don't think people really understand gog connect. It doesn't take the games out of your steam account, you still have them in steam, it effectively gives you another copy of the game you can play much more flexibly than on Steam.

The game selection this time doesn't seem quite so good as the first round of gog connect admittedly but it's free and it in no way affects your steam library so I don't see what isn't to like?

You might want to check that you Steam privacy settings are all set to public. Then refresh a few times on the GOG page. That helped in my case...

My profile is set to public but gog can't find "Two Worlds Epic Edition" in my steam library? i got it for free on dlh.net maybe that's why?

Check that you don't already have the game in your GOG library.

Buy games on Steam? I just collect the ones retailers give away.

I've set all to public but no luck so far. I'll check tomorrow.

Thanks Illusionary!! Great find - add a few decent titles DRM free that aren't on humblebundle either.

4 games added. Thanks.

Nice. Missed out the last time, but it's entirely worth it to see it come back

Why wouldn't you? You get an extra copy of games that you already own and without DRM. Personally I'm not likely to use them from GOG but why wouldn't I claim them anyway? It's a free additional copy of games that I own.

I'm a Linux user and although I use Steam accepting that it is proprietary code and a form of DRM, that is one of the big downsides to it. I don't have the games on physical media. Although it's not likely, if Steam went away, I'd lose access to those games, with this I can download it from another service and can even download and keep a copy if I want to.

I'd honestly just play games through Steam rather than GOG. The only reason I can think of that I wouldn't is if I wanted to play a Windows-only game through Wine. It would be a lot easier to install in Wine using the GOG installer rather than having another Steam installation in Wine.

Out of all the games I only had Olliolli. Still though, better than nothing. Hopefully they'll add Olliolli 2 at some point.

All these people saying they don't have any eligible games... why the hell don't you own Hotline Miami?!

Always greatly preferred GOG over steam.
Steam never appealed to me, as you're totally relying on their servers being up and running. Theres the (admittedly slim) chance that steam could decide to pull the plug and then the users would be up the creek without a paddle.

Just a heads up that to coincide with the fall sale there are now 20 new games on GOG connect. I was able to add another nine games worth £78 to my account, not bad for a few clicks!

Make sure you check within the next five days as they are only available so long as the sale is active (but permanent once added to your account).
