You have to walk down flights of wooden steps hundreds of feet and the stairways are about three to four feet wide so you can stop for a breather but feel awkward restricting the flow of hundreds of people passing by. Similarly you walk hundreds of yards in the fairly level underground tunnels and galleries and whilst there are some seats dotted around you feel obliged to keep up with your guide. The good news is there are lifts back up! Sadly I can't recommend it to an asthma sufferer but if you do go don't forget your inhaler!

Thanks - that gives me the info that I needed and which I suspected was the case. Not for me then.

Sh'ed use mainly for office programs, internet, music and video, if any …Sh'ed use mainly for office programs, internet, music and video, if any games would only be browser based.Screen would be ideally 15" although 14 isn't out of the question. Lighter weighted would be a bonus as she'd be moving it around from room to room and then out to grandparents etc.Main things are that its not going to become sluggish 9 months down the line and also anything that makes it more responsive and kids have no patience waiting for programs to load etc. Before i started looking at refurbs my main specs were for at least an i3 aiming at an i5, 128gb ssd would be ample as it would be connected to my NAS for mass data storage and possibly in a colour, even grey/silver.If you want to put up suppliers that would be fine. Cheers !!

I know you don't really want a Lenovo due to the dated look you feel about it but I have a suggestion that might work. Not seen a great deal of other options, and I would not recommend a consumer grade machine. So with that budget something like the following would be my ideas.

ebay.co.uk/itm…BoZ

T450, i5, vpro, 8gb ram, high res screen, dual batteries, warranty till 29th July 2018 with Lenovo should anything go wrong. No webcam or fingerprint reader on it (depending on your child that could be a good/bad thing). But it is £329

ebay.co.uk/itm…lB6

Another seller, but it's slightly better with a 240gb SSD, webcam and longer warranty for about 1 year. Only apparent down side is that it's apparently got some minor marks. Otherwise it's the same price.

Add a vinyl cover for it in a design she will like or a solid colour and it turns it into a whole new machine

ebay.co.uk/itm…141

As just one of 1000's of options.

I'll second that. Worst touchpad ever on the T440 and X240 - basically either use the TrackPoint, an external mouse or tap--to-click. I cannot believe that ever made it out of prototype stage with something so heinous.

Edited by: "roooby" 29th Sep

Let's try and make it as simple for you to understand as possible, and let's not beat around the bush and use what we're actually talking about in the example.

If a country had a 0% Muslim population, there would be no Islamic terrorist attacks. Poland has a 0.1% Muslim population, which happens to be very close to 0%. Do you understand the basic point that I'm making now?

You may also be interested to learn that the large majority of Islamic terrorist attacks, and subsequently most deaths resulting from Islamic terrorist attacks occur in majority Muslim countries. This completely defeats the argument of the person I originally quoted, and presumably the same point that you're trying to make, which was "some cities have more terrorist attacks because they're popular tourist destinations".

Are you saying that Sweden and the UK haven't had any Islamic terrorism, or any of the other countries you listed? Those two countries clearly have, as the others may have had as well. I'm still none the wiser to the argument your were trying to make I'm afraid. If you'd listed some countries that have a higher percentage of Muslims than Poland, and that have also had no terrorist attacks, I'd understand what you were saying. But to that, I'd say that nowhere have I said that having more Muslims always leads to more terrorist attacks, but that it would be silly to not consider it as a reason as to why a country had more terrorist attacks than a country that had had less.

I'm not sure what 'price point' means. Does anyone know?

Marketing jargon. Just means the price range the seller has chosen to see their product at, to compete with rival products in the marketplace. Definition: "Suggested retail price of a product, determined in such a way as to compete with prices of other products. A product may be introduced with a specific price point, but that price may be altered depending on current demand and competition"

v8griff4 h, 13 m ago

Looks tempting, anyone had experience using this company?

I haven't used them but my advice would be don't bother. I've posted on a few of these GoGroupie deals now because I feel it's important people know what they are actually getting for their money.

Using this deal as an example, the cheapest flights out of Stansted for the dates quoted (Dec 11-13) are with Ryanair and cost £51 per person. The flight out leaves at 19:40 and arrives in Prague at 22:40. The flight home leaves at 07:05 so as kasewene has pointed out, you'll end up with just one full day in Prague.

Hotel Aida has decent reviews but isn't central at all so you'll waste even more time travelling into the city. It's also available for £67 for the dates quoted, so the total cost if you book directly with Ryanair for the flights and booking.com for the hotel would be £84 per person - cheaper than this deal.

If you're interested in this sort of break the best thing to do is use Skyscanner to find flights at an airport that works for you and then something like booking.com or expedia for the hotel. You'll be able to choose more suitable flight times and a hotel or apartment that's in a better location and/or better quality.

Been to both in January and both cities are cold and we loved it, the people in Budapest we found were much friendlier but the architecture in Prague is better and more colourful, either way you would have a great time.

People need to be aware that these deals aren't as good as they appear. Flights will almost definitely be late leaving on day one and early on the final day, significantly reducing the time you have in the two cities. The hotels will be very average, poorly located or both.

They are just packaging up cheap flights with cheap hotels so you will be much better off buying them separately to suit your needs and maximise the time you have to enjoy the break.
Edited by: "Robdk" 12th Sep
