“At first glance I thought it was a 4-slot toaster!”

Might as well get it out of the way as it’s bound to happen.

Do keep in mind that although Currys/PC World has labelled in the listing as "Suitable for charging external devices", the power output from the USB 2.0 port of PC/laptop will still be limited to a max output of 0.5A, so connecting multiple device to this to charge will still "share" this 0.5A max output; so if you have say 4 devices charging from this hub at the same time, you'd probably get average of 0.125A per port.

With that said, it is a neat low-footprint device for increasing the number USB ports for laptop/PC for connecting more devices (input devices such as mouse, keyboard etc, not external HDD as the when connecting multiple devices the shared port might not have enough power for it).

Pretty much what I was going to post.

Great little device for extra connectivity on a laptop or PC but if you charge multiple devices at the same time on this, it will take an inordinate amount of time. Better to get a high power usb charging dock from the likes of Anker or Ravpower if you are looking specifically for a charging solution.

It just won’t charge at all, not slowly. It’ll overload the USB port and you’ll get an error in Windows - most devices need a minimum of 500mA current to charge
Plug it in to a USB charge block, then there'll be enough power to charge a few things at once.

I use one to keep low power consumption things like permanently plugged in Bluetooth speakers topped up.

I was wondering why they would do that, so I searched the listing and I couldn't find anywhere they mentioned "charging". Did I miss something?
Absolutely. And for me "charging" in the title would mean charging only, not connecting multiple external devices.
Thanks
