Found this on amazon and ordered one immediately.
I know it isn't quite as cheap as it was at Argos a few weeks ago, but it sold out there and this is the next best price.
In my opinion a cracking device for someone who wants a nice looking web machine with a FullHD display and full aluminium build.
Should also be good for crouton.

Chrome OS
Intel Celeron N3160 processor Quad-core 1.60 GHz
14" Full HD (1920 x 1080) 16:9 IPS
Intel HD Graphics 400 with Shared Memory
4 GB, LPDDR3
32 GB Flash Memory

*EDIT*
Seems the price on Amazon has risen.
Still the same price at Argos, though.

Lucky this one uses a Celeron then!

Cracking device. Heat added.

Same price at Argos. Worth waiting for £10 off £100 offer which invariably comes often.

Good catch, didn't see Argos had it discounted again.
For me, Amazon was a godsend, because I had it shipped to Europe, however an extra £10 off from a voucher will put it right back at what it was selling for at Argos before they sold out.

Sorry but for me Chromebooks should be sub 150. This does have a decent spec for Chromebook, but I just can't cope with the limitations. I used to have a C720, which was an excellent Chromebook, but once I put Win 10 on it, it was so much better.

Is google play store available for this machine (via developer channel)?

Rubbish can get the all metal ezbook 3 pro cheaper. Bought it off gearbest for £169 and was with me in under 2 weeks and no import duty. Specs are also better.

This is definetly worth its weight in gold

Yeah that's what Intel call these nowadays, it's still an Atom at heart (and performance).

Their naming structure is terrible, some Pentiums are Atom based and some are Core i. Very confusing for customers.

They dont call them that because they discontinued atoms and no these new celerons are not atoms they have a totally different architecture and are much more powerful especially when it comes to native media decoding.

Why do people like you come here and talk so much crap.

It's all based on Silvermont microarchitecture which is the same as the previous Atoms. Intel can name them what they want, it doesn't change that.

Also I owned a laptop with this very chip and it was painfully slow.

They might as well give them away for free.
Anyway, I got a refurbished Acer R11 deal posted here for £99. It is a brilliant CB. ChromeOS + Android work really well. I would definitely pay around £250-£300 for a CB with touch screen, 1080P, 4GB RAM, USB-C ... will pay extra for one with a stylus (like Samsung has).

There are new features coming on ChromeOS soon. For example, containers and note taking (like the Note 8).

Can confirm this is a great device and great value for money - it's this price pretty frequently though.

If I'm looking for a decent laptop for study, live streams of courses etc, would you recommend this? Currently using 11" HP stream laptop, which loses WiFi connection all the time which I can't seem to repair, also has literally no space to install update for Windows 10, so really need something that will actually do what I need it to do

You don't mention the fact though if anything goes wrong with it you are stuffed. Sending stuff back to China is a nightmare. When my GoPro clone arrived with a part missing from the accessories they offered me a $1 to make up for it and that was it.

my Toshiba chromebook lay gathering dust until i discovered galliumOs (linux) now its used everyday

But it wasn't a Chromebook was it? Different ball game

Is this full metal construction like the macbook air?

As far as I know, play store is now available on stable channel (it got out of beta sometime in the last couple of weeks, if I am not mistaken)

I use Udacity & Coursera apps on my Acer R11 (2GB RAM). They work fine.
Youtube live streaming works fine. I watch news channels live on device.

Note: I only use Google office apps. CB may not be for you if you required the full MS Office. Office365, maybe?

Unless you need/want 1080P screen then you can get cheaper refurbished for around £100.
Try and get an Acer R11 then use it for a few weeks to see if it meets your needs.

Yes, and as a result it's pretty weighty.

The build quality is genuinely awesome on this.
