if i remember correctly the stig wears and arai motorcycle helmet when driving, as long as you can fit a neck brace then it fine, it will protect you all the same imo.

Thanks, googled it.

turns out the car ones are a higher safety rating, fire retardant, with stand stronger forces i.e. a quick bash against a roll cage and the motor cycle ones are made to withstand prolonged skidding/knocking off the ground.

I dont think ill be setting my car on fire or anything so i guess a motorbike helmet is better then no helmet at all.
Plus a great price.

Stig wears a Simpson Helmet.
I heard that last year some track day companies were turning away drivers with motorcycle helmets as they are designed for completely different forces to car ones.
Speak to the organiser before ordering yours,,,,
Good price though

Correct, they are different (but either type way better than no helmet!).

You'd normally have an open face type in a saloon car - but the Stig has to keep his (her?) identities secret!

Is this any good when playing halo?

"Quick release retention strap"

I think at some places now you need an ACU gold approved helmet to use on a track? This lids seems a bargain although reading the first link it seems the gold standard has been comprimised by them selling the stickers to just about anyone :-0 . Especially this one as its not BSI Type A, its ECE 22.05 which is the equivalent of a BSI Type B, weirdly which is not a gold ACU (would have been silver ACU until the silver rating was discontinued). Sorry for confusing you, ive confused myself lol

I'm sure this lid is fine for use on a scooter or something similar

look for this sticker on the back of the helmet (if its still worth the plastic its printed on lol)

As far as i remeber as long as the helemt has got the gold compition sticker on it you can use it for track days. That applies for cars or bikes!
