This is the early 2016 model, the new ones are much more powerful
Good price for this model. Ultimately the new ones start off at £1249 so quite a bit more. I was going to change to one of these from my MBA but found that the MBA is more powerful so decided against. Worth checking.
Expired.
No, it's still available on the colours listed by the OP
M3!
Decent price, very doing a new one for £1099, but with £100 cashback when taking credit option of buy now, pay 12 months.
still £100 more but brand new.
also got MacBook Air 13" for £899 but also £100 credit also

I'd be amazed if it's much more powerful as the CPUs are both 4.5W and the jump is from Sky Lake to Kaby Lake which is a minor upgrade.
Great deal! It's an amazing machine- lightweight, great if you need it for everyday use. Not greet if you want to run some complex video editing stuff but fit for other use.

Go for the 13 inch and touch bar at £1250 at pc world. Unless you need a small laptop!

It's not much more powerful, the big upgrades are the GPU and Storage speed. I found it's the difference of 15FPS in Overwatch to 25fps in overwatch while playing at like 720p with all settings on low...... so you won't be playing anything graphically demanding on either.

Well, no, it's an ultraportable. If you're buying this to play games on you're doing it wrong.
I almost bought one of there as i love the concept and as ido a lot of work on an external monitor the size isnt an issue. In the end i was suprpised to fine the 2016 macbook had almost exactly the same benchmark processor score as the mid 2010 macbook pro it was intended to replace (2.3 core duo) so it didnt seem worthwhile.
Why does it say save 250 on the rose gold and only 150 on gold but yet they're the same price?
Very nice looking piece of kit and has a good performance too.
The lack of full size USB ports and even a HDMI port make this not an option at all. Very unpractical in my opinion

I never said I was
12" is far too small. 15.6" necessary especially with the smaller bezel these days. 15.6 looks like a 13"
Mac - cold

I hate iPhones and iOS in general, but my MBP is the best machine I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot of machines and run a lot of different OS'.

I know, hahahahaha
Good price for this. Just got the 15inch mbp and it's bloody good.

A lot of people don't like Apple machines but they are good for some. I didn't like the iPhone but I love their laptops.
I need to get a laptop for a 13 year old for schoolwork etc, and want to get her one of these - she loves the look of them and as a very long term user of Macs i am happy to pay the premium so i don't have the reinstall Windows every couple of years, deal with viruses and anti-virus software slowing everything down etc etc, and i figure it will last her for a very long time so won't have to upgrade after 3 or 4 years, so no comments about wasting money etc.
My question though, is how much of a difference is there between this and the latest model? Would it really be noticeable given the amount i would save between this at £900 and one from the education store (with free Beats headphones which would also make a present - and i know they are rubbish having just had to rewire a pair but again, kids!) for £1,125?

and secondary to my question above, as you can get the M5 processor one with 512gb RAM for £1099, would that be a better choice - i hate decisions like this, too complicated!

this made the daily WhatsApp message so well done @Clangerette
Ignore my questions above, decided this was a good enough deal so have bought a lovely Rose Gold one before they go out of stock! I am absolutely certain she won't realise it is not this years model, and we had originally been planning to buy it earlier this year so this was the model we were going to get anyway!

Thanks for the heads up on the deal...

At last a constructive post. I own the m5 2016. I can do everything I need on it and I'm doing a PhD in computing. I even run VMware on it! The key here is that they both have 8GB RAM which is usually the issue for future proofing with MacBooks for none power users. 256GB is also more then enough for most users. The m5 upgrade was a decent jump last year and the m3 of the first model was rubbish. I would say save your money and buy this m3 which is still a very capable machine. Also beats prior to the solo 2 and Powerbeats 2 were indeed rubbish. The 3 series with the W1 chip are actually very good and never cut out. They are great for pop, hip hop, dance and rock (so probably what most teenagers love!). Before anyone else chips in I'm a B&W man at heart and I use my beats the most due to Bluetooth and W1 chip. The M3 2017 is like the M5 2016. All of this is irrelevant for your daughter. I'd even say at 13 you might be better looking at a MacBook Air 2013 or above (with 256GB) for about £450 on eBay but you know your daughter and how she'll look after stuff. I would say that this should last her most of school unless she gets into video editing!
Also there really is nothing else like this when it comes to portability! Some other ultrabooks come close but are actually about the same price or specs or have fans which output a fair amount of noise...and of course they don't run Mac OS!
Bought the i5 version last year, a little miffed that they brought a new one out so soon??

There wasn't an i5 version of this model. There is now but it is just a rebranding of the m5 which tbh is rather naughty by intel. Even is the speeds on benchmarks are the same as some models of i5 from about 3 years ago due to turbo boast they are still very different!
Shockingly beautiful screen - one of the best consumer level colour reproduction quality screens I've seen - but, ouch, that m3 processor surely is not worth £900 for a 2016 model.
Thanks op, bought a rose gold to replace a decade old macbook for the other half
Great screen and outstanding proportions. Such a stunningly tiny machine and with the mac OS it works really well, because it actually works without issues like windows. We live in 2017, so a year old model makes zero difference to 98% of laptop users that use it for Facebook, netflix, office and emails.

Those having a moan about the price need to understand it's genuinely a good machine that won't need the operating system reinstalled in a year and won't be subject to the viruses that windows have. And they seem to hold their value so it won't be worthless in 2 years, like your windows laptop.
I am a novice
What's the diff between this and the air
I've just broken the screen on my 13" MBP and it's likely to cost around £600 to replace. Tempted to buy something like this instead and have a new machine for little extra cost. But, it's September and apple are likely to announce their new range next week ... Should I wait?

great find OP thanks
