Found 30th Jun 2012
Was needing a long HDMI cable the other day and found this.
After looking through a few places like Argos etc found they were quite expensive. £9.99 to be exact, just becuase it was longer so I think this is a great deal.

Features:

•Audiovisual Gold Plated HDMI Cable
•Supports up to and including 1080p
•1.5 metres long
•Gold plating prevents oxidation and corrosion unlike normal cables

i watch HD with "the cheap stuff" and, guess what, the 1's and 0's come out just the same! Buying expensive HDMI leads is a game played by people with more money than sense imho.
Crap
Only up to 1080p, cold
You can always find them on Amazon for £1 delivered. Like this 1.8m gold plated example:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wired--up-v1-3A-Plated-Connectors-Cable/dp/B0017RW94A/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1341062746&sr=1-1

And yes, a digital signal either makes it to the receiver or it doesn't, so a working cheap HDMI cable is as good as a £100 version.
Have to agree with others, I've bought several "cheap" HDMI cables from a seller on Amazon and I don't find them any worse than the more expensive ones.

I gave that game up when I spent stupid money on a top-of-the-range gold plated SCART lead some years ago and the picture quality looked no different than the bog-standard lead the DVD player came with. To my mind it's all just a marketing gimmick.

Great find OP, but there isn't a Home Bargains shop anywhere in East Anglia, apparently!

When it comes to scart cables, it would make a difference, since the signal is analogue, HDMI is digital that's why it doesn't matter.
