High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is rapidly emerging as the connection standard for HDTV.
HDMI combines high-definition video and multi-channel audio in a single digital interface to provide crystal-clear digital quality over a single cable.
HDMI offers significant advantages over analogue A/V connections, including the ability to transmit uncompressed digital video and audio content. This 19Pin HDMI cable has gold plated contacts for the best possible connection.
7dayshop.com cables are manufactured to the highest standards and represent our best possible value. We promise that our cables will offer the same or better performance than cables costing several times the price. If for any reason (and within 90 days) you are not 101% delighted with your 7dayshop.com cable please return to us for a full refund of the purchase price paid. All we ask is that the cable shows no sign of damage or abuse etc.

Personally i'd spend a bit more, make sure all those cute little zero's and ones don't get lost on the way down the wires

You're much better off getting one of these:

just ordered !! nice one

I would rather spend one billion dollars and get sharks with fricking lasers on their heads...

1.8 metre cables also available in Amazon for £1.37 delivered but nothing wrong with this deal.

I won't spend less than £200 on a cable. As we all know digital signals can fade from '1's and '0's to 0.6s and -0.5s thus making pictures turn sepia and the audio play backwards.

The man at Comet told me this and they are proper EXPERTS not like the numbskulls on here.

LOL
I love it when you go to currys or another superstore and they have demonstrations of how their 'superior' HDMI cable will play the same picture through a inferior cable. I mean its not like they can down grade the Picture quality these days is it? large super stores would never do that would they? they would never rip some naive muppet off like that would they? they wouldn't be that unethical hey??????

C'mon guys, the HDMI jokes are just as tedious as the genuine arguments.

Just saying.

I'll stick with the wisecracks and insights...

I'd rather get some of ]this stuff knowing I should get a proper HD picture, even then I'm not sure it's up to the job. Must speak to someone at Comet or Currys, they're sure to put me on the right path, yeah, that's what I'll do. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b45/sbreik/animated%20images/smileys/mgyes.gif

I would NEVER plug that thing into MY electric supply. It just looks like its waiting to catch fire and burn your house down while you're out!

I remeber the gadget show doing a test with 2 huge tvs running side by side. One was connected with a very cheap hdmi cable and the other with an expensive one. There verdict.......no difference whatsoever.

At the end of the day, as long as the digital 1's and 0's get to their destination, why should there be any degradation in picture quality? Stop wasting money on "superior" cables when ones like this will do!

All jokes aside... is there really a difference between av quality depending on the HDMI cable you get?

Yes, there is, but certainly not enough difference to warrant buying a £300 HDMI cable - unless you've got an 107" screen or something.

There is actually quite a bit of error correction in most digital signal transmission including HDMI. Although it is just 0 and 1 quite a few don't actually make it there in one piece. If they relied on perfection a CD for example would not cope with minor surface scratches, fingerprints or dust.

In theory the better the connection the less the hardware is filling in the blanks so the closer to perfect. In reality though anything that has passed the spec will be proven to be error free enough that the error correction will make it right. I am a fussy AV nut myself and cannot tell the difference on HDMI despite hearing the difference between decent analogue cables and those thrown in free.

There is error correction on the signalling on HDMI but very little on the payload i.e. actual video signals I believe.

Interesting ( maybe to some ;-) )article here, which I more or less agree with, provided it is understood that 'high quality' doesn't necessarily mean expensive in cable terms.

according to Which consumer test these gold hdmi are a con and when compared the bog standard ones gave just as good output. So perhaps you should reconsider spending £40-50-300

cheers mate

just ordered 2 today

Now showing as £2.19. Ordered anyway. Thanks
