Great price, I bought mine a couple of weeks ago from Gearbest for £126... still waiting for delivery.

As far as I know there aren't any custom ROMs (including Xiaomi.eu) yet as it's so new, so hopefully the retailer won't add any bloatware/adware/spyware to the ROM -- I suppose you could always flash the official global ROM just to be sure.

Its a great piece of kit for the price... I need one by 17th December

There isn't a global version of this. Also make sure you reflash it as basically all resellers put on dodgy vendor roms. Also xiaomi.eu rom is available.

Great price but I'm waiting for two actual global model with band 20 required for proper 4g support in the UK.

No band 20

As far as I know, only the SE version of the Note 3 Pro has Band 20 (I have one on its way).

As mentioned above, they are VERY slow to dispatch the phones, I ordered mine on the 11th November and only got the dispatch notification a few days ago, NOT happy. With one exception, everything else I ordered from AE that day has arrived, most of it within 10 days.

Good price, shame about no band 20 and ROM. Be sure to check that's its genuine via Xiaomi website.

Yeah, everyone should do that, lots of fakes for all brands out there.

Thank you

There is no 64GB model and also no global version or global ROM available yet. The listing even says

It's still a good price though.

Mainly an issue with O2 4G (or any network using O2's). Partly EE too.

4G isnt one frequency, it is a number, each set of frequencies has a band number; in the UK the bands currently used are 3, 7, 18, and 20.

Different phone companies use a mix of these, O2 mostly use Band 20 (the poverty spec one), as it gives the best coverage per mast; this means that if you live outside of a major town/city, O2 often has the best coverage - if not speed (20 being the slowest).

So if the phone doesnt have band 20, and you live in the country or a small town/village, you probably wont get 4G.

I hope this helps.

I don't understand this Band 20 issue

It is a name of the band that played at the O2 and only people at the front could hear them. Hence, the campaign "No Band 20"...HTH

On a slightly different note to the main thread, I just want to say I use O2 for work and I travel the country, cities and countryside, and I have to say O2 has very poor coverage compared to EE.

Do you know if your phone covers band 20?? O2 operate a different band in major towns and cities (7, I think); I have heard people say exactly the same thing you just did - and it turned out their phones couldnt handle band 20 properly, or at all.

Supposedly, the 625 is FASTER than the 650 for most applications - Fewer but faster cores from what I remember; if software writers start writing better code for multi-cores, that might change.

Its also as cheap as the redmi 3, but I still think the note 3 pro beats this, due to a few factors and a big one for me is band 20 on the redmi note 3 pro

OK, not heard of issues with those.

I always found Orange (as was) gave better coverage than anyone else, and I know O2 coverage charts are "optimistic", but equally, I have known a lot of people who say that EE might show up as working, but 02 worked better in more rural areas.

Of course, if 02 dont get some investment, it wont matter, because they will go bust (as will 3), BT/EE now control 2/3rd of all the bandwidth in the UK.

Great price, sure it will be a fantastic performer.

No band 20 is a bummer.

From having the redmi 3,the xiaomi rom came out fairly quickly after release so hope that's the case for those buying.

In the mean time you could side load Google play services and virus checkers etc.

Not sure if this is a quirk with the original Xiaomi Note, or affects all Xiaomi phones, I cant set location to the UK; it isnt on the list, even though places like the Falkland Islands are on there!!

I agree, they need to jump ship and switch to a different network to piggyback off of; I will be switching as soon as my new 4G Xiaomi phone arrives, taking other family members with me.

Here in Malvern - due to a stupid config error, we are limited to almost dial-up speeds, O2 AND GG customers are lucky to get 200kbps, and that only after I complained to the CEO of o2 about the 43kbps speeds we were getting since an outage in 2005.

The Redmi 3 has a snapdragon 616 and the 3S a 430. The Note 3 Pro has the 650. This might be a little slower for very intensive stuff, but it has better graphics, is a newer model and is 14nm rather than 28nm so much more efficient. Also it is a 5" phone which lots of people prefer.

There is an international version of the Redmi 3S with Band 20.

I've never ordered from AliExpress before. Just registered.

Basically I like ordering things from the UK, & have a receipt & warranty.

Are there any tips I need to know of when ordering from China? Any ways to get extra protection once item is bought / post-sales customer service etc etc? Thanks
