Haven't played the game myself, but from what i've read the Wii version includes
wii remote support
Daniel Craig is now Bond
Online Multiplayer
Changes to the level designs.
And of course the graphics and sounds are not going to be the N64 originals now are they!

So i would say updated is pretty accurate.

and don't forget the online multiplayer......

I think the list of changes between the N64 and Wii version does indeed show that it has been updated in its transition to the Wii. Unless these were in the original of course and my memory is failing me, which of course is possible.

If we were playing the N64 Goldeneye version on the Wii i would agree with you. As it stands we have a different view on the definition of an update.

It should be pointed out that my posting actually says Wii version :- nothing about being updated

Id does appear

yeah you never said update but i take version to mean similar.
eg res evil 4 on wii and on GC, same game but with minor differences. (or between formats)
in this case its 2 different games with minor similarilties.
