Make your own curry at home. This stuff is what most takeaways use.

Only just noticed the price saving today and offer ends tomorrow.

Waste Not Want Not as they say.
is this available instore? i may give it a try
I've tried this before. It's quite salty. What's the usual price for this BTW.
It's the best Chinese curry paste available but WAYoverpriced at Tesco's normal price. It is less than £2 normally at our local Chinese supermarket. Hot if you only have Tesco near you though.

Yeah I was thinking it's under 2 quid at my local Korean supermarket but couldn't be sure.
This tastes like the katsu curry from wagamamas. All you need is the panko bread crumbs.

we used to buy it years ago direct from one of our local chinese chippies and it came it a 5kg bucket filled with curry powder you just add water to same as what they did.
I buy some powdered stuff from Farmfoods which is quite good but I might try this.

    Thanks & voted hot.
This stuff is amazing, I've been using it for years, it's the exact same as the Chinese use in the takeaways.
Can anyone tell me if this is like the plain curry sauce from Chinese takeaways or is it better with added veg..chicken etc? thanks

its the standard curry sauce youd get from a chippy or chinese place. normally costs about 70p -£1 for a tub of it. you can throw your own meat in with it and that i normally just have it with special fried rice for an easy knock up.

The paste is mixed 1 part to 3 or 4 parts water depending on how thick you want it.

I suggest if you want just a curry sauce 1 part and 7 parts water.
If you want a nice chicken or beef curry etc then I would use 1 part paste to 5 parts water.

Thanks for replying wiggywig, I was hoping it was the ordinary curry sauce, I will give it a go
Japanese curry is much, much better than Chinese stuff. Try to get med-hot Java curry sauce from House if you can. Different league from this Chinese stuff.
    Best by far ...http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/1548/wtoa.jpg

Yes...the med hot is great or go for 50 med and 50 hot. Not oily like Indian curry but has a lovely depth of flavour. The Brits introduced curry to the Japanese and they have been developing it in their own style ever since. On rice, katsu curry, curry udon...lovely stuff. I want it this week now and we got some over the weekend!
make it with fresh chicken stock and it's to die for ..really good.. bit bland if made with water though..

    ..and whats the down side?
I buy this a lot for £1.50 from wing yip. Tastes exactly the same as a Chinese curry.
They also do the hot and spicy and madras versions.
Is this the curry sauce you get in the chippy?

I beg to differ as my neighbour is Chinese and owns local shop ! And they do buy in paste , it's not expensive and a bargain as a whole tub can make enough courtyard for ten on a night in

Surely this cant be that green stuff you get on your chips when youve had … Surely this cant be that green stuff you get on your chips when youve had a skinful on way home from pub , why would you want to buy that ? Surely youd be better getting an Indian curry paste (if you dont want to go to bother of buying all correct spices) I once when pi***ed ordered a beef curry in the chinese thinking it would be really special but all it was was the same green stuff they stick on yer chips but with some beef floating around in it .

    Defo not green lol

Probably went for Thai green curry as some do have them. When your **** up, your sense of judgement goes out of the window. X)
This is the best. We've stopped buying Chinese takeaways now since we discovered this. I add chicken, prawns, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, onions, egg fried rice & noodles. Yummy! Heat from me just for the product, well worth the money!
