As per normal weight lifting/training gloves.

real men dont use gloves

guy in your avatar has gloves!

Real men get sore hands then? I don't as I normally wear gloves - also for rowing as the bar tends to rub my hands after 20 mins or so.

Yeah, he might be like 86 years old, but I'd not be saying anything about his gloves :?

Great deal, was thinking about getting some of these today!

Heat and rep added.

Have a set of York gloves and they stop the skin at the bottom of my fingers going all hard and peeling!

I expect these are pretty much identical. Decent price.

Good find. My current set are starting to get a bit thin.

Heat and rep.

I had a pair of these, the stitching came off a bit, but other than that they were decent, not bad for £4 heh

I don't use gloves as I've heard using your bare hands is better for increasing your grip strength. Good price though and recommended to the non-manly men around here. :whistling:

Bargain, would have gotten these but got some Tesco ones last week that were on offer. Gloves are necessary if you're doing weights often and for longish sessions.

I bought a similar pair from Lidl for £1.99. They're not the same brand though but they're perfect for I use them for (Drumming).

Initially I kept dropping the sticks while using them but then I got used to them and I play almost equally now with and without gloves.

Get some chalk, wont have grip problems then:thumbsup: or grip gloves from B&Q, like £2 and has great grip

Would definitely recommend it. I got blisters where my fingers meet my palm so I got a similar pair of York gloves and they put a stop to it. Actually had a better grip of the bar too.

the idea of general fitness or weights, just makes me dizzy...................

These gloves look nice but are useless. I bought them from argos some time back and returned them!

They are really small and tight! - so only buy if you have girlie hands.

Best bet is to get the york ones from argos for an extra £2 (approx)

I use the york ones from argos and they are good gloves, they come in different sizes but argos don't ask you what size you want and you can probably get different sizes in the golds gym ones to if you ask. Don't know how well these ones are made but the york ones will last years.

Ok picked up mine and sadly have to agree, says L on the box but are pretty tight. Might keep a pair for the multigym hoping that they will strech with a bit of use but definitly a no go for the bike especially with the gel'd palmy bits.

Best post so far, well done for putting this up, am going to get me a pair, cheers!!!

These will do as driving gloves for driving a bus.

Good price... Too bad i already have a pair...

Excellent deal had just ripped my gloves so these will come in handy. HEAT HEAT HEAT

Hmmmmm...she doesn't seem to have anything good to say does she?! Moan moan moan

As previous posts have stated, using your bare hands is an excellent way of increasing you grip/forearm strength for weight training.

The only downside is that my girlfriend hates the calluses that inevitably develop (I just tell her that it is from all the typing I do at work ;)).

Just collected mine, very good, much nicer than my existing Golds gloves, and were less than half the price... so I got 2 pairs :-D

I have to disagree here.

All gloves do is protect your skin from getting damaged. They do not assist in any way to help get a better grip.

Eg. When I do my deadlifts, I dont use any gloves as it allows me to actually keep hold of the barbell better. When I use gloves, the effective diameter of the barbel is greater and hence more difficult to hold onto. In effect, if you want to strengthen your grip, I would suggest using gloves, as they increase the diameter of the dumbell/barbell, forcing your grip to work harder.

You can buy wrist straps which do assist your grip. These will limit your grip development, however, if the rest of your body is disproportionately stronger than your grip, then wrist straps are advised.

probably a tradeoff using gloves and not for grip strength.
The surface of the glove is somewhat tacky meaning you dont have to use as much grip strength to hold it even though its over a larger diameter.
As im just a puny guy i dont lift enough to see whats the overriding factor at higher weights but for beginners just use the gloves for nicer hands

Yeah tell me about it, i just saw her profile as well, talk about negative eh, ah well shes just a kid.

Has anybody else bought these and if so can they comment on the size of the gloves?

I currently have the York ones and they fit, for only a pound extra. The Golds gym ones are cheaper, but if they dont fit properly, whats the point?
