My own personal opinion is just buy the screws you need at the time. You …My own personal opinion is just buy the screws you need at the time. You end up with small screws you'll never use so it's bad value. Butthat's just my opinion and related to my specific job.

As a DIYer I'd say the opposite. Keep one of these in the house and you'll generally always have a suitable screw for the job at hand.
I bought the silverscrew version of this when I moved into my house 18 months ago. I've used more of the small screws than I thought I ever would. I've topped up a few of the more popular sizes as I've used them, but this case provides a good foundation.

Just done click and collect for £9.99
Just my two cents worth. These come in torx bit options as well, I’m a convert to this type of screw head as it never slips unlike pozidrive

Bought a similar set a few years back... Comes in handy for so many odd jobs, saved a fortune!
Good value, got one Six years ago, still got some left but this has saved me countless trips to B and Q in the middle of a DIY job.

True, but my experience of DIY is you either need a just a few screws or an entire box full (or 2 when I did my floor) so a multipack can be a useful long term standby.

My last 'small screw' job left me with 194 3mm screws I may never have another use for! Yes, I know, this box wouldn't have helped.

Agreed, as a DIYer it’s a life saver to have 2 sets like this - The single thread set that’s suitable for screwing into rawl plugs and pre-drilled holes in wood and a set of the turbo screws that can be screwed directly into wood without pre-drilling.

For the both of them it costs roughly £30 but it will be the best £30 you’ll spend, no more DIY jobs where half your time is spent looking in your “spare screw bucket” looking for the right size screw ha.

buy them as soon as you get a house !

Screwfix also have the TurboGold PZ Double Self-Countersunk Woodscrews Trade Grab Pack 1000 Pcs down from 19.99 to 15.99. I tried posting it here earlier this week but at the time Screwfix weren't offering delivery for that product, so I wasn't allowed to post it, whereas now it appears that they are offering delivery on it.
Got the same pack from Aldi this week for £7.99 cold.
Sorry if this is a dumb question but what’s the difference between gold and silver screw set is it just the colour or for different applications?

I find Turbogolds to be of terrible quality. Had to undo garden gates panel 6mnths after installing the gates. 70% of turbogold screws snapped in the timber under impact driver. Most had speckles of rust at the break point!!!! Very disappointing.
Bargain, been waiting for these to go down! Saves me from buying Aldi ones
Now £9.99 just ordered
