This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

This is already quite cheap at CCL for £103.15 but there is a cashback offer on various Asus items currently till 9th August and this qualifies for £25....you just have to claim by registering it and uploading your invoice by the 23rd August and they pay it into your bank

Free postage as well if you go for the cheapest option which claims up to 10 days but I got some RAM from them a couple of weeks back with that option and it was here in a couple of days.

Nice spot OP, Amazon have priced matched this now for delivery Thursday so you can get it even cheaper. amazon.co.uk/ASU…8-3

Re. This vs the Tomahawk max, that board is worth about £20 more than this one and its advantages have been exaggerated above.
As other people pointed out this board will run 3600MHz or more RAM fine.
It'll handle any CPU you should be putting in it fine too, even overclocked a bit if you must.
If you want to use a high-tier CPU you shouldn't be looking at the 450 Tomahawk either really.

This board can be less than half the price of the Tomahawk
People (me included) have been hoping Amazon get Tomahawk stock at £110.
This is £103, almost sure you'll get £25 cashback, quite likely get another £25 too.
You've probably got an offer on your amazon account for £5 credit for delivery to a locker too. You might have +5 credit for topping up 80 gift card balance or other no rush stuff. Hopefully I've bought this for about £41 effectively. Yeah, this is a great deal.

Get this and the Ballistix 3600 RAM and a discounted Ryzen 3600 and that's about £260 all in for a total upgrade. Maybe you need other bits, I don't immediately. Inflated prices atm for ebaying your old gear...

Make sure you've activated Amazon smile to donate a little to charity

its definitely a middle range b450, considering the vrms and its powerphase

how does it compare to the tomahawk max?

how does it compare to the tomahawk max?

The tomahawk max, is 3rd gen bios ready, has a better powerphase and vrms, doesnt come doa (dead on arrival, a known thing for this motherboard), supports higher ram speeds, has an overall better build quality and despite the Tomahawk max being more expensive, it is also better value considering what you get for the price.

Thats why I said middle range its ideal as a good quality board for a build I am doing for my grandson who isnt yet into overclocking etc ...used ones on ebay have sold for more money recently....would get him a croshair viii if I won the lottery
I just got mine from Amazon at £109. Does CCL support when the mobo dies within a month?

Yeah I was supporting you saying its middle range, sorry if I misinformed you.

Yeah it should be covered, unless its user error.
This or tuf. B450
Always had bad experience with Asus boards, had some MSI that weren't too bad but currently leaning towards Gigabyte because they give me the least trouble (ignoring 3rd gen Ryzen BIOS upgrade pain on the X470 Ultra Gaming as most companies had a nightmare)

Lots of people use Asus without trouble, but my experience has been bad, dead ports, unstable booting, BSODing
Was thinking about getting this board for a 3700x build... But why so much hate for it?

Also got my eye on the B450 TOMAHAWK MAX on Amazon: amazon.co.uk/dp/…_it
Edited by: "dbizal" 1st Aug
This board is ryzen 3rd gen ready out the box too. And the RAM 99% of people will want to use with Ryzen is 3200Mhz, which this board has no problems with (without using an XMP profile). It also has 2 PCIE 3.0 slots which is useful.
sod the nonsense which in real life makes no difference, this has two nvme ports usable with raid for under
£80, mind blowing disk performance.. hot hot hot

Of course ...I have used CCL many times....not had to return anything I admit but cant see a prob...they are a genuine company...granted Amazon have the best return method around but its not as if CCL is some obscure overseas company with painful returns process....(they are based in Bradford). The £109 one on Amazon is out of stock currently till August 6th...there is one on Amazon for £111.96...from guess who...CCL
i have this with my 3600, first ever build.
Love it.

Both are good boards with alot of good reviews...personally I like Asus used them alot ...at the mo I have got a Crosshair VI X370 in my current PC and another one (old Z87 Deluxe) that has worked flawlessly for the past 7 years

Because it's the typical Asus approach. All marketing, no quality.

I returned my X570 TuF because the bios is horrible and AGESA updates are painfully slow.

I got a B550 Tomahawk instead and everything is working fine now.
Good audio chip on this, it's a nice board with lots of features imo

See the Amazon price match so went with this board. Outside of this site it's got pretty good reviews and hopefully is the updated version which will take the 3700x without any bios updates.
Already posted. Also Amazon have price matched.

Fair enough.

Just bought this from Amazon myself. Would I still be able to get the cashback from both of those links?
Asus obviously trying to push these 450's as they the only ones with the cash back.
What's the price like if only one of the cashbacks comes through?

Amazon has been a pain in the rear if its not "amazon direct" for the rate my gear but other ok. lol.. i know odd.
but thats the feedback i had, just double checked for u, your good to go,

-- obvious dont buy the used version, via the warehouse.

Each Cashback is £25 each.

T/C on the b450 does state not applicable with another ASus Cashback, rate my gear has never been counted as an direct asus cashback, its been like this for months, ive had double payouts and so have others,... even in their recent finished B550 promo/and others odd time in past it has said within the B550 "marketing advertisment, dont forget to claim your "rate my gear too" but also said in the T/C not applicable for any other asus cashback, another thing to bare in mind, sometimes one promo will come live before the other has that item, i.e the B450 deal came live before most of the higher TUF slotted into the on going "rate my gear". same as this -F this all goes back to 5700 gpu deal via double cashbacks way back to november 2019.. ive been following it since then.

another thing 1000 entrants since jan on this one too in the T/C of the rate my gear limits on who can claim. , thats clearly must of been exercise claimed by now months ago,, but they keep adding new lines such as b550 into it, - folks on her last month said they got cash back on the tufs, obviously quite clear ignoring their own marketing t/c

--

not everyones cup of tea via these cashbacks but for them ones who like to squeeze that last nectar out of a deal type person a cracker.

the board does not have 120 worth of VRM quality it is mid T, but does have quite alot of spec of features in other things, its a nice looking board, £50 after pay out, a complete utter steal for the real deal bargain hunter!, its no tomahawk but neither is it a asrock hdv.

PS: when clicking on the B450 cashback deal info link,, it goes into the motherboard+GPU cashback, which has a little bonus on geting "both", but click on the individual picture i.e motherboard picture for that cashback info.

Sorry for a potentially dumb Q - My case requires a 5V Aura RGB connection. This mobo has 2x 12V RGB headers. Is this an issue or will it work as 5V?

Also, whats the deal with using a 3300X Ryzen (if they come available?) Will it work out of the box or BIOS flash?
And one more if I may, the manual states memory upto 3200Mhz (O.C). Will Crucial Ballistix 3600MHz be ok?

No there are no 5v 3 pin headers on this board so you would need something like this amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1 ....they are also available on ebay from China for about half the price.
Would this be a logical cpu to pair with it? Looks to be a reasonable price for the specs. Had been looking at b550 and X570 but suspect this b450 would do the job. I upgrade every ~4-5 yrs and mid range mixed use.

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7GHz 8 Core

Thanks.

Great combo to pair,

intentions though? as 2700x is quite costly some places.

It's say 187 at CCL post TCB. With the 450 and 16gb ram that's £300 for core upgrade which seems good for the spec. Could drop to a 6 core cpu and save ~£30 <shrug>/think on it.
