Looks rather nice Thanks for this Emma!

Couple that with those cheap 2GB cards from SVP or Ebuyer and you get your own movie on the move... Personally though, I stick to my Toshiba E400 ;-)

Thanks for the comments guys

I have one of these. It's not bad at all as it fits nicely in a coat pocket. Note that it doesn't play Divx & Xvid. All videos need re-encoding using the supplied converter software .
It's also a recorder/pvr which is a bonus.

Good deal emma

To be a pvr it would have to have a digital tv tuner.

Not true, as long as it can take a signal from a sky decoder for example and it has the means to set up timed recording then it will work as a PVR.

That is a recorder, not a pvr

It doesn't need to have a tuner to be called a PVR (personal video recorder). As long as it can record from a video source, it's a PVR.

Even on Goodmans website, the GPDR1 is under the PVR section

Rubbish
The term, Personal Video Recorder, is claimed by Tivo and it's users as the only and original. It is used to describe the fact that the PVR has additional software which allows it to suggest viewing material based on the user's programme choices and personal profile.
Most of the hard-drive based recorders do not, currently, have this level of complex programme analysis, but range in different levels of ability down to "Dumb" recorders which only carry out the basic programme recording/time slip functions. Sky+ is currently the main HDD based unit in the UK and has the most PVR type features. Unfortunately this is only available for Sky satellite users. Other digital terrestrial and cable users in the UK will have to wait for the release of products using an advanced EPG and software such as that being developed by the TV-Anytime forum.

A good deal but not as good, in my opinion, as the grundig one with a 30gb hard drive built in. That ones only £99 and probably a better deal.
