Google 16Gb Nexus 7 - Tesco Direct (Collect in Store) for £180 with code

To get the tablet for this price you'll need to do two things as it's still listed as £199 at the moment.

1.) The item price is £199, so first you need to get the basket over £200 using electrical items only. I searched and added a car light bulb to my order for £1.04... link below.
tesco.com/dir…el=

2.) Now the basket is over £200 of electrical items (important that it's all electrical items or the code won't work) you can apply the following code TDX-KNHP for £20 off £200 spend on electrical items only.

Ask for it to be delivered to store and you've got the tablet for £180.04.

Hope it helps someone.

Also remember you get £15 free to spend on the google play store when you buy this!

To get the free £15 sign up for Google wallet (the £15 does not just appear) and add a credit card once the cards added the £15 will be credited then just remove the card if your unhappy with leaving it active for someone to rob.

Very good price for this tablet the only problem it's Tesco direct again so I doubt anyone will be getting this item at this price.

OP - did you manage to put an order through for the items in question and get for the price quoted. Reason I am asking is when I tried using the cheaper product you suggested, this is sold by Maplin rather than Tesco therefore it won't allow you to collect the Bulb at store and you need to pay £2.99 delivery.

Also, the Nexus is not in the 'Electricals' category but the 'Technology' category and when entering the code it tells me it is not valid.

My order was a little different, I needed some batteries which were £1.50 and that worked... perhaps there is a subtle difference that I hadn't appreciated, apologies... link to the batteries below. This gets it to £180.50

Staff discount too, got 4 AA batteries and the tablet for £162, thank for very much for posting.

Good price.. Now to get the virus protection software

Good price.. Now to get the virus protection software

Odd, me and my family and friends have been using Android devices for years now and I've never heard of any viruses ever on anyone's devices.

Awesome price for the best 7" tablet on the market. Mine's been the best purchase I've made this year and is hardly out of my hands!

Virus protection?! Don't be silly. No need for it unless you get your applications from unknown sources. Even then av is not needed! - Jimmyray, there are/were virus's out on it just like there were on the apple appstore. But there no longer out on the stores + as i said, people mostly get them from unknown sources.

I love mine, can anyone recommend a case or cover?

They are out of stock

mmm_AB

cheap, probably reflects poor quality, I rather buy an iPad.

Nah - go check them out down Carphone Warehouse... built very well and nicely finished. My iPad-owning buddies are buying these for their kids, so must be robust.

I'm getting one of these:

Avast Anti-Virus. Job done.

Besides if a virus targets a platform it is the ultimate endorsement as viral peddlers want to target the majority.

Not the fanboy minority who think a brighter display justifies an extra £270

Can the ipad hack WIFI networks? Can you run your own code on the ipad … Can the ipad hack WIFI networks? Can you run your own code on the ipad without jailbreak/rooting? I think not!Android FTW

Ipads are still easily the best tablets for general use. I'd never get one as I like tweaking stuff. For the general user who has little interest in customisation then it has to be an ipad.

SURELY ANOTHER INFERNO!

Is the £15 credit from Google still available with this?

Was thinking about ordering one of these today, but wasn't sure. This must be a sign

Just ordered.. Hot!!

Ad Network Detector, Addons Detector and Airpush Detector useful apps for tracking down adware and ad push notifications.

I have used this method to order one nexus 7 for myself and one for my friend. I added the batteries which are the tesco value ones, dont add any dealers ones, only tesco's own ones. Then I ordered and got the £20 off with the code as well.

Simply reflects how overpriced Apple products are

Cheap = Apple very worried and announce iPad 'mini' Check this out

The iPad is a great piece of kit but twice the price and definitely not twice the quality - this is a superb tablet and an absolute steal for that kind of money !

I have been using the Nexus 7 since it launched and now my uncle, two friends and a few other relatives have ordered them as well after using mine. In my opinion it is a marvellous device. I cant afford the Ipad otherwise I would have bought it ages ago. So for budget conscious technophiles this is a good deal. If you can afford the Ipad what are you doing in this forum. Go and get it.

Agreed. If people want to think "the same" not different as apples slogan is, then by all means buy an ipad. All have the same hardware, same OS and so on. Myself i don't see why i would want to limit myself. All apple products are limitng even in the most basic way. I.e customization.

I own this one: amazon.co.uk/Fun…1-1

I haven't used the screen protector, but the case is brilliant and even turns the tablet off when you close the cover, I always forget I need to hit the power button if it's not in the case now! The pen isn't bad too, I had an expensive one that doesn't work properly any more for some reason so I'm using the free one that came with the case and it works great!

P.S. This device and the iFad are completely different products, 7" is for portability, browsing, book reading, movies and games... 10" tablets are for sitting on the sofa and generally home use. I own both sizes. This device is amazing to carry around and feels great in the hand (especially with the rubberised grippy back), iPad sized tablets are bulky and simply aren't good for commuting etc.

P.P.S Case in point... how much of an idiot does someone look on the train with an iPad compared to someone with a Nexus sized Kindle.

Fellow HUKD members, refrain from feeding the troll above.

Not sure if it's been posted, but purchasing from Very with a £25 off discount code is cheaper.

Got mine for £158 delivered.

Still, this is pretty hot.

How did you get it for £158? That's £42 discount, not £25.

Oh, sorry. I factored in probable cash back, too.

I should have one of these cases tomorrow amazon.com/gp/…i01

Or at least point them towards a grammar app for their beloved iPad.

Didn't realise you could use the tablets for hacking. Other than for WEP, I didn't think they'd have enough resources. Can you get their Wifi NIC into promiscuous mode?

Use TopCashBack and get an extra 5% off!
And get this for under £175!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can run a form of ubuntu on there at the moment, Backtrack doesn't work correctly. However the hacking is session highjacks. You can also redirect all network traffic through the tablet to log everything. It acts as a proxy basically. You can do wardriving also which wardirivng app + google earth works very well together

How does staff discount work? Is it a code that needs to be entered at checkout? My cousin works there. Need to find out

Thanks

Wait for the 3G version good sirs!

Has anyone had a confirmation email yet, or am I being impatient because it's sunday?

The money is pending on my card and the order is showing up in my account on tesco's website.

Thanks.

Very code for £30 doesn't seem to be working...
