Full of Beans

Take advantage of a whole new operating system with the Nexus 7. This great-looking tablet features the new Android Jelly Bean operating system, so you can enjoy the new Google experience.

The Nexus is the world's first tablet to feature the new Jellybean operating system, making it truly unique.

Unprecedented power

Another technological first, the Nexus 7 is the first 7" tablet that boasts a quad core processor at its heart. This impressive tablet features a NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, offering you speedy processing when you're out and about.

There's no underpowered graphics either, as this tablet has a GeForce graphics card, providing 12 core graphics processing.

Vibrant visuals

The 7" multitouch screen is made with Gorilla Glass which not only offers scratch resistance, but also features viewing angles up to 178° wide. This makes it perfect for sharing, and with the 1280 x 800 resolution, you can be sure that whatever you're using your tablet for it will look superb.

NFC support and Android Beam

You are treated to another world first with the Nexus 7 which boasts NFC (Near Field Communication) support, the first tablet to support this technology. NFC works by touching supported devices together or bringing them into close proximity for sharing information and transactions.

Featuring Android Beam, it's easy to get together and share content, so you can keep up to date with the latest songs, videos and more in a quick and simple way.

With other features including Light Sensor, E-compass, GPS and Hall Sensor in a tablet that's lightweight to take everywhere with you, the Google Nexus 7 Tablet PC really breaks the mould and will offer you plenty of excitement!

Wow, this thing keeps getting cheaper...where will it end?

Finally, a Nexus deal that actually warrants a bit of heat, instead of just being free advertising on behalf of Google.

Getting cheaper!!X)

This deal is gonna go off this galaxy...

' Fools Rush In.. Where Angels Fear To Tread ' ............................................ !

This is the only model that is possibly worth getting given the lack of an SD slot.

And the temperature keeps rising.
Have some heat bruv.

Nice, cheers.

"Android 5.0 (Jelly Bean)"

Come on Currys, get your facts right!

I would love to vote this hot, or cold, regardless if I only knew how it performs. Could be a flop for all we know.

£20.00 for an extra 8GB
That's more like it!
Get canceling people...

Getting cheaper before itsa even released X)

sad to say goodbye to flash!! for android,,,:(...not supported on jelly bean anymore!! no sdcard slot,, no hdmi port...This can't happen. It's the one thing that fandroids always quote is the sole reason to get an android phone over an iOS phone.

Thanks, was on the fence, but ordered now. Have some heat!

Lol I still wouldn't buy it screen is too small for me for a tablet

no sd card is a deal breaker for me even if it was priced @ £100,anyway amazon's kindle fire 2 should be out at the same time which from what i've read thus far if true is looking good (same specs/price but with mini hdmi port, volume buttons & metal body instead of all plastic = nexus) lets hope the fire comes with micro sd slot.

Flash has always been terrible on android, and basically all other platforms. Its only use has been for video playback, and most popular sites began to move to HTML5 when the iPad came about.

tempting at sub £200 delivered - as I have a work ipad I will sit on the fence a while longer though (for further price drops)

Heat added though

Have I missed something or does this really only have a 1.2mp front-facing camera and no 3G or even a USB port? I also read that Carphone Warehouse are going to be offering this free on Contract. Excuse my ignorance, but how would that work?

Not being cynical, I'm an Android fan, and see that this is the first 'pure' Google Tablet, Quad core etc, but aside from that can someone fill me in please if it really is such a low spec as it seems?

If someone mentions a lack of SD slot one more time .....

No SD slot.

Its only use has been for video playback

Funnily enough that is exactly why most people want it.

This doesn't have an SD slot??

The code works at PCWORLD too..

Silly question maybe, but has anyone figured out how to cancel their preorder with google play?

I'm still interested to know how much of the, lets face it paltry, 16gb is availble for storage. If the OS is on a seperate partition and all 16gb is available then its not too bad. If, like my 16gb Galaxy Note phone 5gb of the 16gb is holding the OS leaving only 11gb for users I'd be annoyed. If I could add a 64gb card to the Nexus 7 it would have been a MUST BUY NOW and deal with the grief from SWMBO later.

Even with the mind numbingly stupid idea of not including a SD card slot this will still sell like proverbial hot cakes!

Are you complaining about the megapixels of the camera or the fact that there is no no back camera? 1.2 mp for a front facing camera is very common, and the majority of people do not use the back camera on tablets.

3g on tablet is a bit pointless when tethering is available. And if you don't have an Android smartphone perhaps you should look into getting one of them first before getting a tablet.

The tablet is actually very high speced in terms of processor, gpu and the things that matter.

A thing to note is AnandTech reviewer believes USB-OTG (On The Go) is supported, which means you can plug most USB based devices use them e.g. Flash sticks, keyboards and hard drives as per Galaxy S3's and the like.

Carphone would probably bundle it with a phone.

OK, so now the price is below the RRP, we have a deal! Hot!

Apparently the OS takes up just over 2GB. So you're looking at a little under 14GB of memory to play around with here.

And according to Asus Google is selling the tablet at cost.

Does anyone know the reason why they keep making these modern devices without SD card slots?

I think that your avatar might give away a second reason

i hope asus release their own version with hdmi and sd card support

Everyone has their own priorities on whats important on a tablet, but for me the most important is the screen and the power. This is why there is considerable hype with this tablet. The display is top notch, with the power of a laptop underneath. The microusb port will also serve most peoples needs for external devices.

Camera, no 3g, no SD card you are right are all all things missing, most found even a cheap Chinese knock off. For me though they are very low priorities (camera especially). It all comes down to what and where you intend to use this device.

Just wondering why there is such a price difference between this and a phone of similar specs.

So it has no SD card slot....get over it.

Have some heat for a good deal.

Just make sure it comes with the £15 play voucher and Transformers 3!!

BTW it has a micro USB so buy a MIcro USB adapter and attach your USB stick to it and tape it to the back of the thing.
