If it was chromecast ultra 4k

Sam you just tailed off at the end, finish this sentence?

If it was chromecast ultra 4k then I would buy it?

If it was chromecast ultra 4k then I love bananas?

If it was chromecast ultra 4k then I'm very negative with all my comments?

Has to be at least two of them Sam.

I already got two of these and gave away as there was three months free netflix offer on these at Christmas time two years ago when i bought . Now these are old junk so voted cold . My nvidia shield already has 4k chromecast built in so dont need 1080p slow buffering player even if free.

Wait so you're comparing a £180 Shield that has a completely different use case to a £25 streaming stick?

Are you high?
Also on ebay argos, also on ebay ao, also on aliexpress, also on gearbest, also on techinthebiscuit, also in the local kebab shop around the corner, you may want to edit your op!

Please can you elaborate on the local kebab shop... is it a popular franchise or something as hukd doesn’t seem to accept certain places

(Also out of interest why say kebab shop joking)

I forgot, the local Chinese do them as well, so again you may want to update the op with that info.

John's kebab shop is definitely a hukd favourite, juliet_bravo herself has been there, so she knows.
If it was chromecast ultra 4k
Can you sign in to the internet through a web browser on these? Or surf the internet

Is this the cheapest for the Chromecast? I have the first one and was thinking of upgrading with this one and using my old one in a different room?!?
Roku vs chromecast?

I've just got a roku last week and the quality streaming isn't the best - pretty laggy and jerky

Already have a 1st gen. Does the 2nd gen offer much extra?

I have both. No real difference bar the original sticks out whereas the Mk2 is more compact. Hence whem I needed a third I reverted to a used Mk1 from CEX.

All (both old and new) bought for less than this so shop around. I manage to power one from the TV USB socket. No overheating. Just brilliant.

They do get extremely warm but I've never had it actually affect performance, streamed for hours on them with no issues. Picking up a second one with my work discount brings it down to £23
I've got a couple of the original Chromecasts and we use them quite a lot.

Tempted to replace the main one with this as I've heard that WiFi speed is better on this one. Is that true?

The only issue we get with the original one is that when streaming Netflix it sometimes gives awful blocky quality for the first minute or two of an episode. Was hoping this might stop that. What do you think?!
I want to watch YouTube on my telly. Is this the simplest/cheapest solution?

Every few months Rakuten do a deal where you can get one for £20 (Buy a movie for £20 and get a free Chromecast). I got two through them.

Hi mate I have both and to be honest I don't think there is much of a difference. Only real difference is the new one supports 5ghz WiFi. The Netflix issue you talk about still happens maybe for a slightly less period of time though but it still happens! I would stick with what you've got.
I like how the John Lewis deal was posted first, and a comment casually mentioned it being the same price at Currys too.

Then this guy posts it and it gets 1200+ heat. Mind-boggling.
Despite having a smart TV I still use my Chromecast , it's just so much better than the in built casting.

Good price
Do they play amazon video ?

Ofcourse you just plug into your TV HDMI port and cast from your phone.

Mine sometimes won't work and it's usually cos it's too warm. I think I got it from Tesco, definitely under a year old. It's only maybe 1-2 times a month at max
Just went into McDonald's and these are being given away as part of the latest happy meal.

I favour the 4 nuggets meal.

You might want to update your post.
Hot for something that’s always £25? At least it’s a deal when it’s £20.

I am sure you could get a cheaper nowtv box, maybe free. People have loads of them sitting in draws due to free subscription deals with the box.

If you type it in google there’s pages and pages of it
Why has this deal gone so hot? This is a pretty standard price. £20 when they launched it three years ago:

hotukdeals.com/dea…294
I don't understand why this has got so hot, I thought this was the going rate and has been as low as £18 before when I purchased mine.

So yes it may be the cheapest price around but 1360c heat hot? No.
I've got a 1st gen and 2nd gen Chromecast and neither have had issues with heat. Both work when they are required to do on a daily basis and with no lack of quality.

Not voting either way as this is a fairly standard price.

I still don't understand what the usefulness of these are.
Most TV's have a phone link thing where you can link your phones screen to the TV same way this can...
TV's have inbuilt smart apps..
Separate TV boxes have the apps etc

What on earth do people use these for?
