They seem to be about the cheapest anyway at £27.99 and there is 10% taken off at the checkout at the moment on everything.

I would think people are voting cold because they think the video Chromecast is superior.

One key reason to purchase the Audio CC is for multiroom audio. The CC video version does not support multiroom audio.

I have Audio CCs around the house and can use Google Assistant/Home to control what and where I hear.

Great bit of kit.

Rare to see these on sale, love mine.
I love mine and tied to the tibo active speakers it forms a great streaming audio setup , but I still find it strange why they are so expensive (same price as the HD video version) and never on sale

Have some heat from me - great devices and rarely move from £30.
If Currys do another offer at £15 I'll pick up a spare for sure.

Got 3 myself and yes, they are brilliant.
Yep the multiroom aspect of these is superb and well worth the price so £25 is even better. Once you've got these working I rarely use bluetooth speaker now - I'll probably get that speaker a chromecast as well.
Really strange that this is getting cold votes, maybe people are just seeing the word Chromecast and the price then thinking it's not as good as recent deals (on the video version)?

It's a pity when genuinely good deals get frozen out through people voting cold on things they don't fully understand.
Voted hot. Not getting the cold votes..

Unsure why this is being compared to video version? 2 different products. This with Google assistant is pretty good though my favourite podcasting app is still not supported on assistant. But for Spotify is spot on.

Wake up in the morning and instead of finding my phone going to the app, finding play list, I just say OK Google, play xyz playlist upstairs and it starts playing on the grouped cca upstairs.
Added some heat waiting for it to drop to £20 myself but it's worth every penny of this price

its not cold guys. Chromecast video does a different job than audio.
It is a shame these are being voted cold as they are rarely discounted, as already mentioned.

Also with how well they play with Home or Home mini there popularity should be rising once people discover what they can do. It also worth mentioning that even Amazon Music can now be streamed to the CC so now music from Google play; Amazon Music (inc free autorips) and spotify as well as the various other CC friendly apps can make use of a proper HiFi system.

Just need to find a way to send lossless music stored locally in iTunes to CC without transcoding and I'll be sorted.
I've voted hot but the temperature is still dropping.

It seems to be the best price new for a great product. Although it's a shame Google aren't being as active on deals here as they are on the non-audio chromecasts and home range.
Could I ‘cast’ from my iPhone?

Want to get one of these and a Google Home and be able to play already bought/downloaded music and not use a subscription service.
Out of stock and price increased to £27.99 now.
It is out of stock now, but price is the same. 10% off at checkout
OOS
Hopefully Amazon will start stocking these which may lead to price drops, I hear they're going to sell the regular and ultra, i just hope the audio too before long

Its a depends, if you music is on itunes then its a no as Apple don't support it. However you can transfer your content to Google music (50K of tracks) for free and use that. Or there may be music players for the iphone that supports casting.

The setup you suggest is what I have, Google home and some cc audios for multi-room. My daughter has an iphone however she uses it with spotify ( which is what you said you wanted to avoid).

I think its a bit of a steal especially with 50K of free tracks ( your own) on Google music. They have a good resale price ebay so worth a punt and if it doesnt float your boat then just sell it.

I expect these will be down around £20 in the sales.
Many thanks mcrobbj

Think I'll go for it when it drops to around £20

@BikerTaz69 How can you stream amazon Music to CC Audio, I’ve just tried and can’t seem to find the cast button within Amazon Music

It works on Android devices, not seen the cast option on my iPhone though. Maybe you'll need to update to latest Android, Amazon Music app?

These dongles are great. I bought one a while back for £15 from Currys during a promotion. Now that I've realised they can be grouped with other CCAs and other Google home devices for multi-room playback - I wish I'd bought a couple more. Currently I have a multiroom group consisting of a GH in the kitchen, a GH Mini in the lounge and the CCA in the studio connected to my big old Technics HiFi and Tannoy tower speakers. I'm hoping for them to drop to £15 again at which point I'll get another one for my man-cave in the shed.
