If you already have a 2nd gen Chromecast, don't be fooled into thinking this is a worthy upgrade, it's not. Just slightly faster but no real improvement - plus the 2nd gen is still getting firmware updates.

If you have a 1st gen then this is a worthy upgrade.

Hi, I'll try to keep it short.
I already have the the older model that does 1080p. I'm about to buy a 4K tv sometime this week, my question is, if the new 4K tv already has built-in apps what are the benefits if I buy this new 4K Chromecast?
Or just don't bother?

Thanks for any helpful response.
Didn't need it, but bought it anyway lol

The 4k Chromecast is not new, has been around for some time.It supports ethernet connection to your router or access point if you need that. In regard to the apps it depends on what will be supported from your new TV. For example am casting BT Sport from my phone as i don't have BT TV.
