I think I want a VR headset but I'm not sure what for. It feels like it could be £49 spent on a gimmick that I'll use once then never bother again. Any good reasons to buy one?

I hear he does this on his breaks in the bathroom though...

It’s supposed to be ok with glasses according to user experiences I’ve read.

They’re daydream ready according to this link. uploadvr.com/sam…dy/

You may be better off with a GearVR though.
Is there any actual different in visual quality between this, Gear VR, or random VR heatsets?(eg lens)

i wonder whats the quality between this with S8+ and PSVR
    Thanks. Ordered.
I assume this the latest model?

I paid £60 for a Grade A Daydream View 2 from CEX - great headset, I was a bit dubious but the Daydream is a real step up from Cardboard headsets. I think the main differences between the View 1 and 2 are the over-head strap, better heat dissipation and better lenses. The fact that you do not need to adjust the lenses was the first feature that set this above the previous Cardboard based headsets I had used.

With regards to glasses - my headset fits fine around mine
    Heat. Nice find Biddy

My 4k flagship phone with as good as or better specs than the mentioned is not supported... Pretty limited selection of handsets then.

To be honest, I’d say that is exactly the purpose of something like mobile VR. It’s a novelty item,or toy, that you may pick up now and again to play the odd game/video/VR experience (or VR porn if you’re wanting to watch that on it. )

If you are really serious about getting into VR content though, then a Oculus Rift/HTC Vive/PSVR are the headsets you’d need to buy.
Gear VR, Daydream etc are fun but shortlived and no real depth to the experiences imo. The leap between these and oculus rift for example is huge - having your hands in the experience and being able to interact with the virtual worlds is a something else. That said, I find it hard to find the time to set up the rift and actually play...

The list hasn’t been updated on the site for a while. Google it instead and you should find an answer. (If you haven’t already, of course.)

I agree. And also you can get a last gen Gear VR used for around £10-15 (got one for £13 postage off a eBay auction). Change the adapter to usb C and it's all sorted.

Ah that sucks. Hopefully they will update it soon as it seems silly to not support it officially.
    Not for iPhone users.
Can you sleep with these on and will the paint come off

Got an old one, do you know where you can pick up a cheap USB C adapter, they seem to be more than the device!
    Biddy21 h, 20 m ago

    It is.

Are you sure? All the pictures are for the V1. Although I can not find anything about V2 on the UK Google store.

If it is indeed a V2, no question, go buy it

Mine came with the adapter. But I remember seeing a comment about them being a few quid from banggood or gearbest.

Has to be the black model with the ability to switch the ends (not the original white unit).

I mainly use mine for movies. 3D movie rips work great too.

Experimented a bit with some software called Trinus VR - basically streams PC games to your headset, and your head movements emulate the mouse look on standard FPS games. From what I tried on vanilla Fallout 4, it was great. Need to find the time to look into it more though...

I am. When you click buy, it gives you the options of choosing the colours and shows the V2 headset in the images.

Oculus Go is being announced May 1st, so hold off until that. Then invest in project Santa Cruz early next year. That's what I'm doing anyway.
For watching movies in bed, this device is amazing. It's like a cinema screen whilst laying down.

Will this work with Note 8?

It will, yes. Again though, have a look into GearVR before purchasing this as you may prefer that instead with your Samsung phone.
Anyone tried using them with an unofficial phone? (Have a Xiaomi Mi A1 5.5")
If only they had one for Apple!
    Ordered one. Thanks
