This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

You can share purchased apps, games, movies, TV shows, and eBooks and audiobooks from Google Play with up to 5 family members using Google Play Family Library.

Sign up for Family Library

1 - Open the Play Store app Google Play.

2 - In the top left, tap Menu Menu and then Account and then Family and then Sign up for Family Library.

3 - Follow the on-screen instructions to set up Family Library. If you aren't part of a family group, you'll need to create one first.

Note: Everyone in your family needs to follow the instructions above to set up Family Library.

It is possible to restrict spending with members of the family group depending on the type of account.

If you're worried about your friends going crazy with your bank card, you could order a separate card like a Revolut card and add it as your primary payment method (the only card other family group members would be able to use) and only top it up when you want to add content to share. I use a Revolut card as my primary payment method. You don't even need to top it up however, if you want the members to spend nothing, you can use a different payment method stored in your Google account that the family group members won't be able to use.

You can also use the Revolut app to restrict spending instead, or other app if you use a different card.

More information about Google Family Library can be found here

I hope this deal is useful!

That whole giving anyone access to any of your payment / cards is silly. If a family member loses their phone you then potentially run the risk and increase your chances of your money being exploited more than if it was just on your own phone.

I like the idea of sharing, but Google could have at least locked down the payment bit.

Used this all the time before they removed the ability to share films redeemed from a voucher

They did? Are you sure you're not just redeeming rental vouchers, as I haven't had any issues sharing them but I know you can't share rentals by default
Wonder if this will apply to Stadia games?

Yup definitely not rentals. Both my UK codes for Schindler's List and Big Lewboski wouldn't share. Neither will the ones from my Movies Anywhere account although I can guess why that might be the case

strange, I am pretty sure all of mine share if I toggle the family library on for the individual film. definitely the case with movies anywhere too.

I have looked for that like I used to. It's an issue where in the film info it says "content isn't eligible"

Added htty dragon 3 to our accounts just 2 days ago issue free, are you Sure the family account payment hasn't been changed? Think you have to keep your payment on the shared credit card on your account.

I've paid using a card that isn't the primary payment method and have been able to share content with no issues

Yoooo I just went to check and I'd forgotten to remove my expired card so it'd stopped allowing me to share. It's all fixed now. Thanks hahah

Been using it for about two year and my family are locked behind a purchase password and I'll be notified if family members attempt to purchase. I do it this way as I dont want adult prillaveges accessing my card

I find Google a great company that allows me to have two step verification for any device that tries to log into my account

That's the reason I don't activate it. Just silly!
There is no account showing on mine odd
Firstly, this has been great for our family as I buy movies with my Google Rewards. However, I have question which after researching, I have been unable to solve.

I do not have music in the Family Library. I have everything else; movies, TV, books, games but not music. Does anyone know how to add this?

You can't add music.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

So, should the op not include music in the description of the deal?

Much as I luvvvvvvvvvvv my Android Device's, I find Apple's iDevice's security features in those regards a wee bit more robust ... sorry.

I'm not 100% familiar with that 2 step verification thing's on Google you speak of, etc (care to enlighten us?), thanx.

But in the meantime:

I totally agree with you ...

And because of that, I initially refused to link a card to it, until I wanted to purchase some of the free App's/free Game's etc that sometimes comes up on here, and they were DEMANDING a logged in 'payment method' (even though nothing would ever be taken out - a proper pain though, being forced into a situation, despite us both knowing at the time they'll be absolutely no fruit within it), which were all blatant pointless exercises, if you ask me?. :-(

So at time's I'd have to rather forefeit the freebie - just so that I could begrudgingly have some peace. :-(

In the end I ended up linking it to my PayPal - ONLY when it still had a card in it linked to either a then cancelled, or then expired card still riding within it, etc (and with it like that, I then took my freebies and bounced - and yes, not exactly the most ideal of situations all that, huh?).

But thankfully those Day's are now well and truly over, as either certain Google Play Store updates, and/or changes (over time), have now meant that none of that matters anymore, so the majority of people could then cash in (any temporarily free freebies that is), and cash out (without any money thing's like your card, or PayPal etc linked to it).

Simply clicking on something along the lines of I'll add it later (or something), is more than sufficient now. :-)

It's sad that it has to be like that, but that's pretty much the reality of these thing's at time's basically?.

Such is life ... lol.
