There seems to be an issue on here with saying Google Home cheaper elsewhere or at different times. Plenty of my comments removed on the subject too. Another moderating disgrace.

It wasn’t very good
I’m getting code not valid.
Will this make calls and write emails for you? Thinking of buying one.
Code not valid, is now £88.94 inc shipping

It will make calls apparently.
I don't think the email functionality is available, yet.
Hey mods, saying its cheaper before isn't offensive, the ops profile picture is more offensive to the kids on here
I'm equally enjoying and being frustrated by mine. I have three.

I'm considering switching up to Alexa.

I’ve just jumped ship from Alexa. Home is way better. They’re also now rolling out the capability to connect to Bluetooth speakers through a firmware update. Updated my home mini this weekend through their preview programme and can now connect the home mini to my Bluetooth speakers. This in my mind given it is more responsive than the echo ever was, now makes the home mini way better than my eco ever was.

I thought that at first. See how you get on after a few weeks. Genuinely! If it's still better than that's great news.. I just found Alexa better to respond (and easier to say the hotwords) when using a family's Echo.
Only W5 is working as a code at the moment. Might wait and see if it comes back.

I honestly don't know what these things do. I know they answer mundane questions and play music. I need practical solutions to daily routines, hence the question. It doesn't list my question in the product description. Do you know?
Does it offer the extra special White Ring Mark functionality offered by the Apple device?

That’s what I thought about the echo. After a few weeks it rarely did what I wanted, often didn’t respond even when I was stood in front of it shouting. Lost count of the number of times I returned my echo.

Apart from the two items that you have listed, it also does the following:

Control your lights, if you have Philips Hue (or equivalent)

Set a reminder for you (adds to your calendar too)

Free telephone calls (excellent for the lazy People amongst us)

Set an alarm

Add items to a shopping list

Someone else to chat too other than the wife

No doubt there are other things I have missed.

No, as you pay extra for that
does it act like a Chromecast audio speaker?
(sorry I suppose I could ask google if I had one)
Apart from an improvement in sound quality what can this do more than the Google home mini which is currently selling for £34.00?

Nothing more. It’s just a speaker upgrade.
Still annoys the heck out of me that I can use Google Assistant to play a movie on Netflix on Tv, but it can’t do the same for Google’s own Movie and tv content.
Code doesn't work anymore

There is a Google Home on eBay at the moment for £30

Is this Google Home? or the cheaper Mini version?
