More intuitive and "smarter"
Don't bother. Get one dirt cheap or free. Right now the tech is basically a beta. Lots of things don't work or randomly stop working. Wait for gen 3.

Disagree. My 2nd gen mini is great! Use it for turning on lights and heaters.

Not sure where your getting beta from, Google assistant has been on Android phones for years!

I've got 1 home, 1 home max, 2 hubs and 3 minis and they work great for me.

Mainly used for...
- Spotify
- Radio
- Weather
- Timers
- Controlling TPlink smart bulbs
- Turning on/off blink cameras (ifttt)

I've had not issues whatsoever

I try and use mine to put videos onto my Chromecasts/Android TV with limited success. I try and use mine to get definitions for words with limited success.

Playing music, as long as I know a specific or I don't care what plays works most of the time.

I guess it depends what you are after, I've bought the Hue switches for my lights and I use the TV app for Spotify with my phone as a control most the time. My Google minis (4 of them!) Are used less and less as time goes on.
