Interestingly enough if you attempt to buy a home mini they make you an offer you can't refuse and even show you the math.

HOT!

Has HUKD taken on some sort of "collage" intern or something.. loving all these main deal images, that actually show the member what is in the deal they are clicking to, instead of some silly random google scraped one!
Probably one of my most used gadgets the hub, great kitchen companion.
How do these compare to likes of elexa? Looking at the home hub and mini bundle for reference.
For those interested, the Google Home Max is down to £199 at the BT Shop. There is a Max + Home Hub deal which nets you the Home Hub for £50 or a Home Mini for £13. Hot stuff!!

I only have experience of an Echo dot (unsure of exact model) but we did a side by side mini/dot test. Mini won it nearly every time (asking them to do things, play things, answer things)I wasn't impressed with Alexa at all, but it may have improved by now...

If you have Prime and not a G Play subscription, then Alexa is the way forward and vic versa.

Never thought about music. Yes we have Amazon prime. Is there no app or any work around to play music on Google with prime

Not that I am aware of, the only official options I have are Gplay/YouTube Music/Spotify/Deezer as choices.
*edit* seems you may be able to cast Amazon music to a Google device, but reading people get a few errors. I can try it if needed?

249.01 for both and 1.01% TCB, thanks great deal
Seems to be a bit of conflicting info out there, so I’ll ask.
Has anyone successfully paired a google home hub with a Ring doorbell for streaming?
i know Nest Hello is Google’s preferred device as Ring is now owned by Amazon.
I have a home mini and an Alexa dot but obviously none have video performance.
Bit irritating having motion alerts popping up on the tv but I don’t want to turn them off, just in case as it were.....
thankd

The only thing that has put me off buying these over Alexa is the "ok Google" to activate.

Much better saying Alexa, lights off than ok Google, lights off.

I'm with you there!! Saying Alexa is just so much easier than "Okay Google" or "Hey Google". Nit picking at its finest but it's true

"Hey Google! What's 24 + 24?"
"The answer is 68".

I started off with Amazon Echo dot, in my smart home venture, slowly but surely i have went over to Google's eco system.
I now have 2 google minis, 2 google home hubs, Echo show and 2nd gen Echo show.
By far i find the felxibility and SPEED of the google products are far superior to the Amazon devices in my daily use.
Just added a Nest protect, (now owned by Google), and looking to get a Nest Hello to complete the setup, also the bigger Home hub Max is due out soon.

But what happens if you're acquaintace/mate/significant called Alexa? Change it in the settings I guess
I was hoping that now Amazon and Google deem to have made up that YouTube might have been available on the Show.

Comparing the Google to the Alexa products is a bit like comparing a tapestry to a bit of toilet paper!

Say "Cocaine Google". Our Google Minis are called "Father Jack" because they wake up when you mention drugs
Pricematched on John Lewis site for the homehub at least.

You can't pair Alexa to ring no. I had a ring doorbell before Amazon brought them and I cannot add it.

I take it I can't pair the Google home hub to ring either? Seems a shame no system can be paired to it to make it a mini CCTV system :-\

The Netgear Arlo cameras can be added to Google home.

But they are on the expensive side.
