What's the sound like off this, is it comparable to an Amazon echo?

Much better in my opinion. Although I'm sure it's probably all personal taste..

Can't speak for the Echo Show but find the Echo 2 sound to be a bit better than the Google Home Hub.

But by far the most irritating thing is all the Google ones don't have an aux-out socket to connect external speakers. I reckon they'd be the better devices hands down vs Alexa if they did.

Well if you are listening to podcasts and spoken word, the home hub sounds okay. Listening to music? Not so much. The echo (not the dot) sounds much better. The home hub has virtually no real bass to it. Compared to an echo show? There isn’t much in it.

The 3rd Gen dots sound a lot better than the 2nd Gen ones - and in my opinion, it sounds better than the Echo too.

Thanks, I did mean the 2nd gen echo, not the dot. Don't won't to invest in a Google home smart speaker as its suspected that Google will announce a new one in October. So if this was comparable to a 2nd gen echo I'd have went for that.
Anyone know if this is nationwide or store specific ?
This is store specific. Just checked my local and it’s £59 for the standard Google Home not the hub
Store specific or mispriced. Went to the local store and it's £89-
That currys looked well packed.

If they put the prices down like this, what else would you expect?
That's one way to get more people to the store. Manager is a geneious.
