Excellent price for this! Comes with US plug and UK adaptor, but you can change the cable if this bothers you. 12 months warranty. £119 pretty much everywhere, was on sale for £79, I think this is a good price.

  • Hands-free voice commands with Google Assistant
  • Voice control music from streaming services with integrated speaker
  • See schedule & more with 7" touchscreen

Ordered cheers
Bought one last time there was a discount code, from these guys, arrived quickly and with the US to UK adapter. Still had the factory wrap on. Everything was fine.
Does anyone know what the sound quality is like on these? I’m switching my Echos to google, was thinking of using this in my bedroom instead of my echo plus but sometimes I listen to music when getting ready. The upcoming nest hub has 2.1 speakers but will cost a lot more.

Will also need to get a zigbee hub, doesn’t look like any google home kit has one like the echo plus does

I think they consensus is that they're passable, but if you want anything half decent get something that's standalone. Use a Chromecast Audio on a proper stereo setup or use something like the Sonos.

Oh and heat - ordered mine yesterday. Should be arriving tomorrow.

Edit (again) - just checked tracking and it's due today.

Jokes aside, if you have a few smart things that you want easy control over. This is a good (and easy) way to do it.

Some people are happy using their phones or Dots/Minis, others like the screen.

Just remember the phrase, a picture paints a thousand words. There's a lot of information that the screen can give you without you saying anything.

Well, I am debating too and hope the deal will end soon. I have Alexa all over and I really do not want a marriage between these 2:). I've got a Reolink camera (still in the box) and that supports Google in USA, so I am thinking will support it here too at some point. In other words, I have no clue why you (and I too) need this, perhaps because the price is attractive:).

I got mini, Alexa already but don't control anything. I like the idea with screen especially for YouTube.

I bought one as an Xmas gift for my parents, mainly as a lazy way to auto-update them with newest photos of the grandkids!

Excellent, thanks for this, just ordered a chalk one to replace a Google Home Mini. Looking forward to the Nest Video Doorbell integration...
Bought one last night before the deal was posted. I also was going to wait as I was hoping once the new version comes out these will drop significantly. £68 is still the best price these have been so I went for it. Main use will be integration with the Nest hello doorbell when I set it up.

Can I use any usb plug and cable? Don’t fancy using the American plug with adapter.

Don't think it's USB powered. I think you can probably swap the plugs out if you really wanted.

I read people swapped the cable with an UK one, so may be standard cable.
Outstanding deal! These are normally well over £100. I have one in the kitchen, it's great. I use it to set timers, read recipes and cast YouTube/BBC iPlayer/Pocket Casts to when cooking. When not in use it loops around the photos in my Google Photos. I love the way it dims automatically based on the ambient light in the room. I'm tempted to buy a second one!
Does this work with ring doorbell?
I really want to build a smart home
I've pretty much automated the home so would find it difficult to justify getting one of these but great price. In actual fact I already have a Home Mini in the kitchen paired up with a television and a tablet which is as good a setup as the Home Hub but more versatile. I also have NAS so that I can use Homes and Minis to stream audio and video around the house. The sound isn't bad actually although I also stream to dedicated sound systems when I want a bit more oomph or quality.
I would wait for the 10inch screen rather than squinting at this from a distance

Is that to play videos on your Google devices or to cast to a TV?
Ok, this one got more heat that I was expecting, so I may get one. I do not need it and my house was taken over by Alexa, not very happy to have these 2 as housemates.
Question:
What makes this better than Echo Show 1st generation? So far this one got 10 times more heat than my Echo Show deal. Is this really so much better? Thanks!

Much worse then even the first echo plus. I’d say it’s on par with a google home mini. However weirdly it’s actually ok for voices from YouTube etc just terrible for music. To counter this it’s worth it just for the photos feature which is amazing using recent highlights. For home automation and ease echo is miles better than google home so think twice about moving over. I’ve had loads more Wi-fi and grouping issues on Google (especially with mesh networking!) then Alexa.

As owner of both literally nothing bar ambient mode and photos features. Plus google assistant for questions. It’s a decent saving though. Echo show 1st gen miles better for home automation and like night and day for sound quality for music.

If you want something sort of similar, but Alexa instead of Google, I posted a deal for the Echo Show 1st generation.

I think your deal is still a good deal but Amazon we’re doing them for £80 two weeks ago (I bought one so got 3 now all in a downstairs group). This is a bigger saving. As a isolated device it’s a tough call. One thing nice with amazon is if you have prime you get some of prime music stations for free (on google you can upload own music for free). Google assistant is miles better then Alexa for questions but I’ve found you very rarely use it. For home automation and media get the show. Big draw for show for me is now supports Apple Music too (which I find much better then Spotify having used both on premium for last year) having said all that I’d buy this just for the photos feature at this price it is that good!

Possibly not directed at you, just that I've seen a few comments. Why is the Show better for home automation? I would have thought something as simple as controlling lights, would work equally on both. Do you have any specific examples?

The big one for me is that in many cases the Alexa app supports more devices and is also less dependent on 3rd party applications. Hue is a big one for instance. Via Alexa you’ve been able to create custom groups well before Hue let you do that themselves (and which show in Google Home but don’t work with it). That’s a major factor when you want to have lamps etc as part of your routines (which are also better on Alexa). You can also pair bulbs directly to an echo plus as it has built in zigbee. As an early adopter I’ve got echo, google home and Siri via HomePod. Both work but just found more things work with Alexa and better. For instance that Arlo camera I’ve just installed buffers in half the time on Alexa vs Google Home (same conditions and google actually nearer the router). Another big one for our household is although our family calendar is google calendar our work calendars are Microsoft and we have an iCloud calendar too. All are supported on Alexa. Only google supported on google. If I was recommending one platform now I’d recommend Alexa for the fact it’s platform agnostic on the whole.

My biggest gripe with these is that the screen is absolutely tiny. I was tempted until I saw one in a store.

The unopened stuff and crap under my bed is getting ridiculous, the missus knows it's there but she just learns to ignore it now.
I do really need to shift some of it on, got unopened Chromecast, Google Mini, Firestick, harddrives etc etc you get the ideal lol
All purchased when on offers but I have it all already....go figure
