Made for Music

Google Home Max is built with advanced hardware for the ultimate in high-fidelity music with dual 4.5” woofers, and crystal-clear highs from two tweeters.

Smart Sound Inside

By applying the power of Google to audio, your music will sound amazing in any room. Google Home Max analyses, tunes and updates itself, automatically (Wi-Fi connection required).

Your Songs, Just Ask

Play music from apps like YouTube Music, Spotify and Deezer by streaming over Wi-Fi (some services may require subscription). Play, pause, skip, control the volume and more with just your voice.

"Hey Google, play some pop music"

Rock the Whole House
Play music everywhere by creating a multi-room group using Google Home Max along with Google Home, Google Home Mini or a speaker with Chromecast Audio built-in (sold separately).

A Speaker with Smarts

With Google Assistant built-in, you can control compatible smart home devices with your voice and do things like turn up the thermostat, turn lights on and off or check to see if the front door is locked (controlling certain devices and features requires compatible smart device(s). Plus, you can check traffic, get your daily schedule, the weather forecast, set reminders or even make phone calls*, all hands-free.

"Ok Google, will I need an umbrella today?"
"No, rain is not expected today."

"Ok Google, wake me up at 6AM tomorrow."
"Got it, your alarm's set for 6AM."

"Ok Google, dim the lights in the kitchen."
"You got it, turning off kitchen lights."

Fits your Style and Space

You can stand it on either end, so it’s easy to fit in anywhere.

Google Home App

Download the free Google Home App (available on iOS and Android) onto your smart device for easy set-up and control. Please note this app is required to operate Google Home Max.

Google Home Max is compatible with Nest, Philips Hue, Hive, Samsung SmartThings, IFTTT, TP-Link, Spotify, Google Play, TuneIn, Youtube, Netflix, Google Photos, Google Chromecast, Philips, Sony and more.**

*The calling feature allows outgoing calls to most phone numbers in the United Kingdom, but does not support calls to emergency numbers (including 999 and 112) or premium rate numbers.

**Google Home Max is optimised for selected compatible music and video services only. Subscriptions/payments may be required.

Even if you're using Multi-user and Google Home Max is meant to recognise your voice, keep in mind that a voice similar to yours, or a recording of your voice, could result in Google incorrectly recognising someone else as you.

Maybe get your eyes tested.

They look grey and dark grey to me.

Therefore chalk and charcoal is fine.

Dam dilemma!!!
This or 2 x Sonos ones (gen2) with google support

I already have a google home and mini this would complete the trio

I really like Sonos as I have 2 play s I'm trying to offload and upgrade from that.

Sonos would sound better slightly in my opinion but two of those will cost you around £140 more I believe?

Depends on your eco system. I have Sonos around the house so for me it makes more sense for multiroom audio all working together.

Tempted.. but ill have to get to store to give it a listen.

Had a sonos Play 5 Gen1 many years ago, so be good to see how this compare.. seems a bargain for the price though.
I've already got a Sonos One (not the Alexa one), what's the sound quality like on these in comparison? Would keep my Sonos for another room so not bothered about setting up as stereo speakers etc
Just my two cents, I've got one of these and the sound is insanely good quality. I would say that it's at least on par with my Sonos Beam, although likely much better....

Id avoid the Sonos as the home Max would get updates a lot faster and this would obvs sync better with your regular home and mini
can i use this with my amazon alexa??????
wow just got sonos play 5, are these worth it?
Have a pair of these, bass response is great, very impressive, I am tempted by another...
I have 5xGH, 1xGH mini and 2xGH maxi. Wifi reception on the Max is the worst by far. Just s considered if your existing GHs struggle and your considering this.

Amazing speakers though, especially as a stereo pair.

Thanks. Your comment made me pull the trigger and order. Been wanting one for ages (since they dropped it last time to £199 and I held off while I checked reviews out - by the time I’d decided they were back up in price!)

You won't regret it! I had a friend with a house full of Echos and this single speaker made him change everything over!
Two year warranty is standard, no need to buy from JL.
Just my two cents here, I have the max speaker to go along with the rest of the homes and mini's in my home. The sound is good and I got it for half price originally but I still think at £199 its over priced for what it delivers it certainly doesnt warrant the original price. I have a Samsung sound bar albeit with a separate woofer but I think it gives a better overall quality linked up with a chrome audio and it's less than half the price all in. I have a home hub in the same room so I can shout at it to play on the soundbar. In hindsight I dont think it was worth the purchase for me and got sucked in with the offer and Google ecosystem, in saying that if you have no other decent speakers or hubs about it is a great all rounder, good and loud and fills big rooms, only really distorts above 90% max volume!
Tempted
It is the same price on AO

I have two google minis
Very tempted to upgrade one of them to this and then use the spare one somewhere else🙈

Looks like a few of you here believe this is better than the sonos 1
Surprised to hear that
And currys...
All standard two year warranty

If you only have two mini's the standard home is a big step up for the majority of home listening. I think out of them all it's still the best in terms of size, looks and sound output, unless it's going to be used for parties it might be worth getting a listen to a home in a normal house environment to save you a few a quid! We have mini's in our bedrooms, the home in a make shift gym and the max in a large lounge kitchen living area. The original home doesnt really loose quality at very high volumes either!

So what is your point in the reply? Is it worth the upgrade
Is there a better sounding speakerr in this format for the money... ignoring the smart capabilities as this can be added to most speakers anyway (which I already own)

Was considering the Audio Pro C5.

Just after the "best" sound!

Yes
Great presentation OP
The only thing putting me off buying one is how big it is. Wish it had the same footprint as a Sonos or the Apple

If you are currently listening to music on the home mini, the standard home might suffice its plenty loud with good bass. The home max is a huge step up from the mini but it is a sizeable chap. Undoubtedly the home max as per OP is the biggest and loudest of all and another step up from the standard home, but it might be a bit overkill depending on where and how it will be used plus you can pick them up for about £69 on offer too!

Why do you want to pay £69- when it's £59- pretty much everywhere else. :/
Do the bigger units do exactly the same as the mini but with a better speaker? I can't see any other difference.
Why does "hands free" have to be specified in the title of this huge speaker? It's a little big... Great price though.

Why £59 when it was at £29 on currys ebay?
