Yes, all the other retailers have these at the same price. But tomorrow you may not find it anywhere. So better to know Sainsbury's is an option. Try to find an Echo Dot 3 now for £24.99. You can't. If I want the Google and can't find at at Currys, at least I know I can try Sainsbury's. Hot from me!
Carphone are 49 but bogof, better if you do want a pair

And Google themselves. This is a standard [offer] price everywhere at the moment until Google decide to tell retailers the next price

How is it as a speaker for music?

I'm a Google fan but I'm gonna say Dot.

Well, both have pros and cons.

Google is good for finding your phone and making phone calls.
Echo is better at home automation stuff and additional skills.
All my home is automated, smartthings with webcore pistons, tado, hue and google home...Google home is far better than Amazon, and I do work for Amazon

I have home automation and Google is excellant at it.
There is no new style Google Home Mini. Only the Echo Dot has had an update.
So in summary, Google home mini is 29 pounds everywhere, and then will go back to 49 at some point. To then be reduced amazingly to 29 again. Etcetera etcetera, repeat to infinity.

Apply same rule to echo dot at 24 / 29.
I'm not tempted but if I was I'd buy direct from Google, would be easier to deal with after care direct from the manufacturer
The Google Home / Amazon Echo debate is the current Android/iOS debate. Both are good but which is better depends on your needs.

If you have other android devices, chrome cast video/audio etc then the Google Home is better. If you don’t want the integration with your mobile/tablets/chromecast and prioritise sound quality, go for Echo. Both are equal in terms of home automation imo.
I can't comment about it I'm using external bt speaker for it. But doth and mini are not good perfect stereo music. For daily use both ok.

Maybe! But some of us didn't know. Got a £20 voucher, I may use it now. But I was hoping to find the Dot instead...
Heat, op. Will have a look in Sainsbury's tomorrow.
All the £29 deals have disappeared overnight. Currys, Argos, etc. all back to the £49.00 "standard" price.

Almost brought one yesterday (3rd Dec) when they were £29 but remembered I had a £5 Argos voucher at home. Brought voucher out with me today (4th Dec) and price now £49. Should have brought it yesterday
... but seems AO are now selling at £25 so saved £4 on yesterdays price and I've still got my Argos vocher: hotukdeals.com/dea…006
I'm had alexa for 2 wks...returned today and picked up google home mini. But each time I say hey Google, my phone activates, which is already annoying me!
