How is this getting cold votes? Where is it available for less?

Would love to try this out, but already went forward with Alexa. I'm so used to listening to music and audiobooks now, I'm not sure I could use a device that doesn't support them as easily.

I think Google has recently added audio books to Play Books? I may be wrong...

Not in charcoal anyhow.
Where do you enter the code? Doesn't seem to ask for one.

The page before you pay. "Add voucher" option I think it's called

No idea. Just purchased mine. Great product, great price - heat added!
Strange, no option for voucher code either. Reserved on e at £39. I wonder if I can get retail assistant to apply code at checkout? It says this is a weekend only offer.
they might as well change the RRP on this and echo.
Ordered thanks

This does support music and apparently audiobooks as of January. It also sounds a lot better than the Echo Dot for music and instead of a 3.5mm jack it can use a chromecast (including CC Audio) as a target device for music playback.
How do I go about getting the fiver off in store? Currys is like 5 minutes away from me
HEAT
Thanks OP. Purchased.
Cold
I've got a couple of these. I use them with audible daily.
You just have to open home app on phone and cast phone audio.
I went with these over Alexas as ive used google play music for years.

Cold

Care to elaborate where you can get these cheaper if you think the deal is cold ?
Practically a waste of time until Google and amazon unlock the software THAT IS ALREADY IN BOTH OF THEM so that they can be used PROPERLY in the UK. Why we can't use them fully here is downright outrageous.
Had an elexa gave it to my mum & bought this about 3 weeks ago. I live in a large 1 bedroom flat only 1 needed as can here it all over my flat, the sound is great and loud, I have linked it to my Chromecast which is fabulous for watching supported apps.Dougal which it answers to ( such high entertainment value ) also rang my phone this morning when I couldn't find it, this feature will probably give me 5 hours a wk bk I normally spend looking for it. I much prefer it over alexa. HEAT
Voted hot 🔥
No matter options I choose for delivery I get
Home delivery / pick up from store

This item is currently out of stock for delivery
Bought with the code and with free delivery. Thanks Chanchi32.
Voted hot, but you can't click and collect as it doesn't allow you to add a voucher code..

Have both and home is far better for music, can set up as multi room. Google music let's you upload 50k of your own music amazon 2k! Plus you can use Chromecast or bublepnp.
All three colors on Google Store at the same price

Not for less but all three colors available in Google Store. Maybe this is the reason...

At £39 yeah..
Can't add voucher for click and collect, unless I'm doing something wrong?

Except that there is Google Play Music and Google Books now supports audiobooks...

Had this problem from my phone so tired my PC and works from there.

And what features are these that stop it being used properly in the UK? The only features I've found missing so far are 1) phone calling and 2) The ability to change its voice from female to male.

Number 1 is a real irritation, Google Voice should definitely have moved across the pond by now. It's been nearly a decade since launch!

I'm interested to hear what they can do in other parts of the world that we can't do here. Thanks in advance for the information.

Calling is coming to the UK soon. It will allow you to call ANY phone for FREE and display your caller ID. Killer feature. Not like the crappy Alexa to alexa calling
Sorry if this is a stupid question but is there any chance John Lewis would price match an offer like this?
Charcoal wasn't available for me, but I already wanted Chalk, matches my full-size Google Home that way (y).

Heat added, thanks OP!

I've been toying with the idea of getting one of these. This is probably an idiot question but can you play music from YouTube or some free service I haven't heard of (or even radio) through this? I don't want to subscribe to a service as I only play music when I'm doing the washing up and nursery rhymes for my son. Currently just using YouTube on my fire tablet.

I think they might allow Spotify free on there now but I've had one in the past and you can connect your phone / tablet to it and use it as a Bluetooth speaker. For such a small thing, the speaker is surprisingly good.

Heat for the deal but the only thing that makes me choose the echo dot over this is the fact that I can connect my Bose Soundlink Mini to Alexa meaning I can have good music wirelessly all around my flat where as the only way to get music on another device with this means you have to buy Chromecast which also needs it's own power source.

It doesn't look like Google plan to change that either
I bought a Google Home last year and already have two dots. The Google Home went back after a few days, saying "Ok Google" doesn't flow quote as well as "Alexa".

No, I already know the reason.

It's knobheads voting cold for no valid reason, just for the fun of it.

Cretins.
Thanks OP, ordered another one for home delivery.
