No the option is there to select primary speaker, but it refused to connect. I only got it to replace my Echo as that sucks since you cannot stream a local collection.
Are these the same ones they were giving away for free a few weeks back?

similar to Dot but search is better and more accurate
Wish they'd let you pay with Google Rewards Cash. Got £40+ and nothing to spend it on.

It's the 100GB package, not that big but enough for my personal files, photos etc. In the past Google have given discounted movie rentals and credits to the play store. The free mini home speaker was the first decent 'freebie'
Is this latest gen?

I got 2 yesterday. I've been using my 2 Dots for about 4 months. I love Amazon and Google equally. Very early days but so far I'm liking the Nest Mini more. The sound (music with them set up in surround) seems a tiny bit better, the speech recognition is definitely better, and I like that it gives me a solid few seconds after I say what I want to add to my to-do list, while Alexa frequently cuts me off after my first word!

Granted, it's not perfect. I can't add to "my shopping list," which has existed for a long time for me, because it will only add to its own Google Shopping List, which I don't want. It does integrate perfectly with Any.do for my To-Do list tho.

Can't go wrong either way. It depends what you want it for and how many you want in how many rooms. If you're only wanting 2, and they're close enough together to pair, I'd say stick with the same provider so you can actually do that. That alone is definitely a major improvement I got when I plugged in my 2nd Dot. Heck, I can't really see why you'd want 1 of each if you only have 2, to be honest. I have 2 of each and in an ideal world, in a few months, I'll end up with 4-8 Nests and 0 Alexas. Just no point in having to remember all the slight differences.
These are great, Google keeps giving them to me. I use them for timers mostly, super useful.
Got one off the bandq deal

Had a quick play with it today one thing that has REALLY annoyed me you cannot play your uploaded music on Google music without a subscription

Spoke to chat about it earlier and got nowhere

that’s not true. You must have it in a playlist, but you don’t need a subscription. I play my uploaded music without a subscription, but as I said, it needs to be a part of a playlist you’ve made on the service.

It requires an annoyingly specific vocal request. There are YouTube videos that explain it better.

Careful if it's credit from Rewards surveys, because they've finally decided to start expiring it.

€29 in Republic of Ireland. Whats the point of us creating blatant tax havens for these megacorporations if they still charge us more than England?
Please note...this is the google home mini and not the google nest mini (which is on offer for £35).
I get all this with my S10+... why do I need another Google Assistant on the room. Weird

I’m on the £15.99 a year google 1 deal, and got one free. To make it even sweeter, I used the credit I earned from Google rewards. Which is now on Apple too.

When was this? September? I recall them giving the 1st gen mini's to Google one members earlier in the year, however more recently they gave the 2nd gen to Google/YouTube music subscribers

You can cast your music to your device, and you no longer need the casting device to be on. Not as convenient but a workaround.

Yeah that's the
"Hey Google play my <state your playlist name> playlist"
annoyingly specific vocal request.

Alternatively Google Music seems to be doing a trial period again (at least for me) so I've got a full month free.
