Possibly the launch of the better subscription is making these more appealing (ps I gave you heat before)
Maybe it went cold as there was no new Nest Aware price introduced at that time.

Is IQ version way more better than this one considering rather significant price diffrence?

Nice one To be fair they have lots of competition for a 6th of the price so you'd think Google would take a 20% price drop and make up the difference on additional sales? Even the IQ versions don't have that many additional features. Im always on the hunt for these second hand around £85

I personally don’t think it’s worth it for the price gap, but if you can afford it it’s definitely an upgrade

The issue I had with the cheaper version was the size of the cable you have to get through your wall! As I remember it was about 20mm across, which means you probably need a 25-30mm hole to get it through. I went with the IQ in the end and it’s great. Also be ware of the amount of bandwidth these take up if you have them recording 24/7. You’ll need unlimited bandwidth...

I have the outdoor one and the IQ indoors, the IQ is better but not that much better. It has face recognition which is handy at times but I don't look at the two sets of footage and think wow that is so much better.

I'm pretty sure the IQs only record in Full HD to save bandwidth, even though it's a 4k sensor. Same quality as normal or maybe slightly better. The 4K kicks in when you zoom in and therefore you dont lose image quality while cropping and it can use that for facial recognition.

Normal vs IQ: 3mpx vs 8mpx, ip65 vs ip66, no face recognition vs face recognition and some more other little differences.
Take a look at the Imou looc cam. Outdoor, similar design and records 24-7 to an SD card so no cloud storage fees. Around £60 on Amazon or £30 via vipon.

I haven’t used this camera but I have used similar. I have the UCAM247 that claims to have user customisable notifications (like many do) and records SD card.

It’s complete rubbish. Either bombards you all day long as the trees blow in the wind or misses people on the driveway if I dial the sensitivity back. Also the app is terrible and crashes all the time.

My point being is that many cameras look the same. It’s only when you try to live with them that you notice the real usability issues.

I have the Nest Hello (doorbell cam). I tried to avoid the subscription model for a few years but have now succumb. It’s worth every penny in my opinion knowing that if I get a notification then it actually means something. If someone walks on my drive then I get a notified within 10 seconds. However if a fox walks by or leaves blow in the wind I don’t get bothered with unnecessary alerts. This is the most valuable part.

I plan on replacing my UCam247 with a Nest camera at some point.

You get what you pay for I reckon.

I'd check it out and not assume its bad. It's made by Dahua who are only 2nd to HIKVision ,this is their consumer brand. If you know the market then this name will speak volumes. Their support is also very good and the camera I mentioned has a PIR sensor so you don't get all of those false alerts you mention. It's way beyond any other camera at that price point and can do stuff this nest cam can't.
How do these really compare against the Iq
