Product overview
Meet the new Nest Hub, the centre of your helpful home.

Entertainment made easy.
Catch up on Netflix shows, watch YouTube for recipes, listen to music on the enhanced speaker, relive your favourite Google Photos and more.

Keep listening, from room to room.
The enhanced speaker delivers 50% more bass than the original Nest Hub. Create groups with other Nest speakers and displays for brilliant sound in every room.

Just wave your hand.
You can use Quick Gestures to control many Nest Hub features. Play or pause a song or video, snooze an alarm and stop a timer. Quick Gestures use Motion Sense to detect when your hand moves – without a camera.

Hands-free help at home
Ask Google to play music or a video, pause a song, control volume and more.

Control your smart home.
Nest Hub is the one place to control your smart home – it works with hundreds of compatible devices.

Your home at a glance.
Tap Nest Hub to turn on the lights, see who is at the door or turn up the thermostat.

Just ask Google.
Ask Google for hands-free help at home. Just say things like, 'Hey Google, turn on the lights'.

See your live feed.
With Nest video doorbells and cameras, just say, "Hey Google, show me the front door camera".

Keep your family connected.
Nest Hub helps you get ready and stay on track throughout the day, every day.

Get news and weather.
Use your voice to get important info as you get ready for your day.

Broadcast messages.
Tell everyone that dinner’s ready or that it’s time to go. They’ll hear you on all of your Nest speakers and displays.

Helps you wind down and wake up.
The display helps to wake you up with gentle sounds and dims to make your bedroom more sleep-friendly.

Ease into your morning.
The Sunrise Alarm on Nest Hub wakes you up gently. It gradually brightens the display and increases the alarm volume.

Unwind at night.
The 'Your evening' page helps you wind down at night and get ready for tomorrow. Fall asleep to tranquil relaxation sounds.

Stay comfy and cosy.
Turn off your bedroom lights, adjust your thermostat, set alarms and check your morning schedule – right from the device.

An effortless way to get sleep insights
Sleep Sensing uses motion and sound to analyse the way you sleep. It understands when you go to bed, when you get up and how long you’ve rested.
Every morning, you can see your sleep summary on Nest Hub. Or just ask, 'Hey Google, how did I sleep last night?'.

Get a good night’s sleep, night after night.

Sleep Sensing helps you improve the way you sleep with personalised insights and helpful tips. And after getting to know your sleep patterns and habits, it gives you weekly suggestions for more consistent sleep.

Take your sleep data on the go.
With the Google Fit app, you can view your sleep data throughout the day and get helpful tips based on your sleep history. Google Fit also works with health and fitness apps you may already use, so the information that you need is in one place.

You’re in control.
At any time, you can turn off Sleep Sensing. You can also turn off the mic with the mic switch.

Your sleep data is safe.
Your coughing and snoring sound data doesn’t leave the device. Your sleep data is not used for ad personalisation, and you can review and delete it at any time.

Nest Hub respects your privacy.
You can turn off the mic at any time with the mic switch. And easily clear your Google Assistant history whenever you want.

Thoughtfully designed, inside and out.
Simple design. Sustainable materials.
Nest Hub’s simple design and subtle colours fit any room. The display adjusts to ambient room light, so it’s not too bright or too dim. And it’s built with the environment in mind – 54% of its plastic-part material is made with recycled content.

I use google search a lot on my laptop at home - does google assistant on this work in the same way (same breadth and depth of results as a google search) or is it limited in it's knowledge just like Alexa is - tired of getting the 'I don't know that' from Alexa - a search on google never returns - I don't know.

I have a few echo shows and TBH I don't use them for much other than music and basic questioning. Oddly I prefer my phone apps for controlling smart devices, tasks, diaries etc and I have no interest in sleep monitoring. I like to ask questions of my smart devices like I would use a google search for - this is primarily what I want to know

It will run a full Google search and try to give you the top answer, usually from Wikipedia. E.g. if you ask "How tall is a baby giraffe?" It shouldn't have any issues answering that. For more complex questions it may give you a headline answer then tell you to look at your personal Google results e.g. on a phone for more information.

What is the difference between this and nest max? Max is 120£ more!
    Avatar
Max has a bigger screen, a camera and far better sound (not that the nest is bad).

Would any of these allow me to do video calls via WhatsApp? So could I download WhatsApp on this? Or any type of video calling I guess?

How does this compare to the Echo shows. Any big advantages as to what it can do

You don't have to deal with the "OH BY THE WAY" from Alexa every time you ask something. (edited)

Good spot.. most places it is around £45, RRP at BT website is just misleading
    Avatar
Most places currently have it on offer around £45 ... They all say similar RRP full price

I have 4 of these and I can't wait to get rid of them. As soon as the Unifi cameras I require come back in to stock, everything Google will be leaving my house apart from the thermostat and protects.

Buy these if you want something else to argue with. "Hey Google, stairs lights on" ... "Sure, all lights off" ... "HEY GOOGLE STAIRS LIGHTS ON!!"

Also the touch display is really sluggish to react.

These devices are of a low quality in my opinion.
    Avatar
I would say underpowered and yeah, touch or display in general crap... Regarding voice command whenever it was not recognising me/understanding me I have just re adjusted my voice Match and changed the sensibility of which device should "ear"
