Approach daily life differently with the chalk Google Home Hub. From looking up recipes, to checking the weather when you’re running late, the voice controls will act as your hands-free helper. You’ll also be able to connect to your streaming accounts to jam out to your favourite playlists. You can even hook it up to smart tech around the house, so phrases like ‘’hey Google, good morning” can turn your lights on, as well as heat up your home. Plus, it has a stunning touchscreen that proves handy for watching how-to videos, and when it’s not in use, it acts like a digital photo frame by flicking through your Google Photos account.

So it's not for you then. Simple. Seems you have made your mind up anyway. I really do not regret buying mine at more cost than this, streams my music/YouTube while cooking, play games, set timers (again while cooking) turn lights on/off, listen to the radio, ask for recipe/weather. Heck even just ask it to tell me a joke, they're always lame though

Can't see any point of getting this. Received one as a present and have not found any use for it. Maybe someone can suggest how it makes their lives better.
I wonder if there's a new one coming and whether it will have zigbee as the Amazon Echo Show does. That's the thing which would make me buy one. As far as use, it would work well as a video recipe guide as you can see you tube videos, which would be useful if you cook. Otherwise, I suspect it would replace a radio as my echo dots do, and you could check your route to work before leaving the house. I find it useful when new things arrive to google tips and tricks for them, You usually find out what they can and cannot do if you do that.

Nice photo frame, smart assistant, decent Bluetooth speaker, which if I were to buy all 3 would likely cost a fair bit more than this price. It's just a nice little gadget to have for me, I don't need it, but equally it's nice to have.

You could say that for most new things out today people feel it's necessary to buy. Like central heating controlled by your phone, video camera doorbell etc.

Its all useless in my opinion but who am I to disagree lol

The Nest Hub Max is the new one, it comes with a camera so you can Duo call with it. It doesn't look like a direct replacement so they'll probably just continue selling the GH Hub as an alternative for those who don't want a camera (or spend a fortune).

Sell it to me for £50 and it will make you happy
The key feature here is the digital photo frame feature that's linked to your account or your spouse/kids.

For a seamless experience, you need to allow google to automatically backup photos to the cloud from your phone, enable facial recognition so that it'll recognise your family members and then create a live album.

That way, any of the new/old family photos will be shown on the nest hub. Mine's in the kitchen and it is always a conversation starter.

Downside is that there's a 20,000 limit to the live album and for those with young kids, you can reach the limit very quickly.
These are brilliant, especially as part of a nest eco system. Perfect for viewing your nest cams and nest door bell. Image quality is fantastic for pictures from your Google account and unlike the Alexa devices I had before it rarely struggles to understand me.

Turn it on?
Same price in Tesco, I presume it's to match the pricing of the new amazon echo
