7" touchscreen
Sometimes it's easier to see your schedule than it is to hear it. The Google Nest Hub has a 7" touchscreen so you'll be able to see everything in a single view, whether it's an upcoming appointment or your shopping list. Just like the other Google Home products, you'll still be able to use your voice to get things done too - your personal assistant is ready and waiting to help.

Voice match
Want to know what's going on with your day? All you need to do is say "Hey Google, show me my calendar". The Google Nest Hub has Voice Match technology, which means it can recognise your voice and display your calendar, reminders, commute and more on the homescreen. You can do more than just see your information, though. Make shopping lists, see the latest headlines and even place calls to family and friends. The Nest Hub is perfect for searching too, so you can ask questions and get visual answers from Google - perfect for finding recipes, looking up local businesses and learning how to do things.

Control devices
The Google Nest Hub is compatible with over 200 smart devices from over 50 brands, which means it fits perfectly into your smart home. Turn the lights on with a
single command, or change the TV channel using your voice. You can even control your heating - it's compatible with Nest. All you need are compatible smart home products and you're ready to start controlling everything without even touching a dial.

Play music
You're only a few words away from getting the party started. Use your voice to search YouTube Music for your favourite songs and bands, or even searchfor music videos. Log in to your Spotify account or listen to your favourite radio stations - there's something for everyone.

Relive your memories
See the photos you've got saved with access to Google Photos. Finding your favourite moments is as simple as saying "Google, show me my holiday photos" - they'll be displayed on the 7" screen.

rumours of a new one coming soon but great deal at the minute and much better than the amazon echo imo
I really like mine, i have it set up to show pictures of Family and it scrolls through them showing pictures that would otherwise be stored safely away in the interwebs for ever never to be seen again.

totally, best thing about having it on. and for when I am cooking and need a dozen different timers which I can set off while I have my hands covered in cut up onions
i have only recently bought my nest, any way of recouping the spotify 6 months or is it done through currys?
Hoping the max will drop.
Does this have the same improvements that google nest mini has. i.e improved speakers and microphones? If that's the case this is a great deal!

Yeah, I'm also holding out for the max or if this drops further I might bite.

Is it possible to sell the Spotify code?
Could you buy 3 of these and use the Spotify vouchers for a year and a half, making a new account easily after the previous 6 months has run out?
I'd mainly be using this for voice control and music. Does anybody have experience of both and know if I would be better with this or the Google home speaker?

I have the minis and it definetly sounds better. Unsure about the other larger ones, but the fact you have a screen with it should be the justification between the two.

I got middle of April for mine, a bit closer than your Jan
I ordered it from the Google store on Saturday, arriving tomorrow apparently. No Spotify I know, but I don't use them anyway.

Just ordered. When do we get the Spotify details?
This or an Amazon Echo Show ?

This comparison glosses over the differences, giving a slight win to the Google.

Does anybody know if this Nest hub has a browser baked in? Seems it didn't when it was reviewed in Sept '19, but has a software update added the feature?

I ordered yesterday and haven't received anything yet. Just searched my emails for "Spotify" to make sure.

Turns out I ordered something from curry's at Christmas last year and have a code for 6 months Spotify!

Thanks for responding.

I've got an Echo Spot, Echo input and a Google home mini. I just received a full refund from Amazon re the Spot's known display issues.
I like Google's snappiness in responding compared to Alexa generally sounding as thick as two short planks, but I like the Echo's broader ability to control devices.

The Google Nest Max would be the ideal product if it existed in an smaller screen format for the bedroom.

As for not handling video, it's the ambient light sensor placement that fools the untrained eye into thinking/hoping it also does video.

The Echo Shows apparently have a fuller sound, but this can be problematic if listening to talk radio or audiobooks at low levels as the sound comes across as muffled, and you can't tweak the bass/treble levels so you end up turning up the volume.

I've think I now know the reason the tech 'expert' on QVC would lean over the Echo Show 5 when demoing the TSV the other day, and that it was due to the downgraded 2 mics design and not what he professed to be his tendency to lean over to talk to it (damned liar!).

Have to check out the Lenovo unit before reaching a decision.

Was going to get this but found that only the Hub Max has a camera for video calls! What a shame.

Has anyone got one of these and use it for recipes? I usually use my phone but get tired of having to constantly look at it, get it messy, or have the screen lock on me
Anyone received Spotify code yet?
Edited by: "csdt3" 1st Apr
I’m still waiting for my code on another product that qualified for the Spotify, maybe they send the code once it’s dispatched or a month later to make sure you don’t return the product?
Can these be paired with my Amazon Dots/Prime?
@Chanchi32 , It's £58.99 now

Got my fingers crossed Google will try to shift old inventory by giving away the older model to Google One subscribers like they did with the Google Mini. Obviously a much more expensive device, but I can dream.

Nope. Its the Google or Amazon eco system you have to chose and stick to with these types of devices unfortunately

The Spotify codes I got came through in "Spam box" but receipts came to normal inbox.
Any idea how long they are valid for? I have my code now but do not want to activate it just yet

It says October in my code email.
Just curious. What's the date of manufacture on your device? Got mine today and says 11/2018 on my box. Find it quite interesting it's such an old unit. I'm thinking it's either really under performed in sales or Google's had mismanaged stock stuck in a warehouse and is clearing old stuff via all their sales partners.
