Tempted but looking for a smoking deal on a hello doorbell if anyone sees one!!
Got one as part of the vodafone broadband deal. It's ok. wish it could do more. I think it was going to be more or a standalone device but its really a casting device. I find it very limited it what it can do. If anyone has any good tips, happy to hear them!
Cheaper than normal, but the offer on the standard hub is so much better! V annoying
Good for any Nest products I seen like Doorbell or Camera viewing
Thanks, got the bundle with the Nest Mini.

There was one a few weeks back from Currys. £105 for the Nest Hello and a Nest Mini. Needless to say stock didn't last long as it was collection only...

Managed to grab one though!

It's pretty good if it's in the kitchen and you needed videos to follow if cooking or need measurements converted from cups to grams etc.

Also works with most smart devices you have around the house such as heating, lights, etc. Can use it to make video calls via Google Duo or standard audio calls if your family or friends have a Google speaker. If you have a Nest hello doorbell then your feed will show on that.

Also if you use Google Photos it works pretty well as a digital photo frame too.

The next cheapest was £112 which was months back, regretted not getting it then as I was waiting for John Lewis to price match it. By the time they attempted the price went back up!

Does anyone know what BT shops returns policy says if I receive this and open it but change my mind?
Seems like a great deal, 2 for £150 each
We've got several Nest Minis and two smaller home hubs. I bought two of these to video my mum during lock down. Dear god they're a pain to setup. The problem is that you must have a Gmail account with available Google contacts. My Google account runs with a 20 Yr old Hotmail address. I thought it would magically synch contacts across but not. So now have separate Gmail address just so I can add one contact. The device is fine it's just the dogs dinner of interoperability between providers is the problem.

this is what I'm dreading as I've got one for the same reason. I hear you have to have duo and google contacts in sync on your account before setting up the hub. Let me know if you have any other tips on the setup - i'm going to have to walk the inlaws through it over the phone :-s

The home hub uses Google Duo to do the video calling, nothing else. The person you are video calling must also use Duo. Duo can only setup a video call using a contact that exists on the user account being used on the hub. That contact must be in Google Contacts, which means having a Gmail email address. So users like me that have Hotmail or Yahoo etc. are forced to have a second email address and maintain a separate contact list.

If you already use Gmail and Google Contacts then it's a breeze to setup.

Explaining this to an 83 year old is hard. I remote controlled her Android tablet using Teamviewer to install the Google Home app and set it up with a new Gmail account and contact. Teamviewer is a god send!
