Meet the second generation Nest Mini, the speaker you control with your voice. Just say "Hey Google" to play your favorite music from Spotify, YouTube Music, and more. It sounds bigger and richer with 40 percent stronger bass than the original Mini. Ask your Google Assistant for help, and get the best of Google – weather, news, or almost anything. Hear your personalised schedule, commute, and reminders. Set timers and alarms. And even turn on the lights. Nest Mini is compatible with hundreds of smart devices, like lights, thermostats, and TVs.

Or buy an Echo dot for £25...
the older one is £19 with £5 argos/ facebook voucher I am tempted but can't find any thing else to make it up to £40 :-(
This is a great price for the *NEW* version of the the Google Nest Mini. You can buy the previous generation for £19. This shouldn't be downvoted based on your preference for competitors' products or product misunderstanding.

It's a good price for a good product. These companies want to flood the Market with their dots and minis, because they know that once consumers are hooked then they will buy into their whole ecosystem of products and subscriptions.

Yeah. You can get hooked but there’s no way I would pay hundreds for speakers. Quite happy with the Echo’s performance, fills the kitchen or any room with music. And that’s enough.

got mine for £22 ;-)

Got mine for a £1 but that’s not going to help anyone is it.
Tried the alexa app and couldn't give me the info I wanted. Does the Dot use the same 'brain' as the app?

If that's the case, I will have to go with Nest Mini as it got the answer in one go.

google and alexa are different assistants. it seems you can set up either as default on a phone but the Nest and dot only work with google/ alexa respectively. Then you have siri and cortana , siri doesn't work very well on my mac, perhaps I'm behind with my Apple taxes ;-)
