Google Nexus 5 SIM Free (Black) £279.99 @ Mobile Phones Direct with £10 Quidco!

£269.99 for the UK version if the Quidco pays so I thought I would jump on the N5 bandwagon this morning!

With a stunning 5-inch Full HD IPS display, Nexus 5 boasts an expansive screen for an unrivaled visual experience. The lightweight smartphone comes in a 16GB version and is the perfect combination of powerful performance, functionality and convenience thanks to LG’s proven hardware and best of Google (TM) software and services.

Capturing the Moments that Matter
The camera in Nexus 5 features LG Innotek’s acclaimed optical image stabiliser technology which was first introduced in the LG G2. Mated to an 8MP camera with longer exposures, less blur and less noise, Nexus 5 is unmatched in dim light performance. Nexus 5 also includes Photo Sphere making it easy to capture a series of photos and turn them into a seamless 360-degree experience. And Google can create Auto Awesome photos and movies from the content in your library to share with friends and family. Moreover, the improved HDR+ mode in Nexus 5 instantaneously captures a burst of shots and applies computational photography to intelligently fuse these images together into one perfect photo with a greater range of shadows and light culled from the multiple exposure and colour data.

Packed with Power & Speed
Nexus 5 is the world’s first phone running Android 4.4, KitKat, offering the power of Google in a thin and lightweight device that still manages to feel solid and reassuring. With a blazing fast SnapdragonTM 800 processor and 4G/LTE, Nexus 5 also boasts a 445 ppi Full HD IPS display with advanced in-cell touch technology that enables faster touch recognition, better outdoor visibility and crisper images. This set of features is packaged in a sleek, modern design that leaves no doubt that this is Google’s premium smartphone.

Best of Google
Android 4.4 is fast and powerful yet simple to use. The new dialer automatically suggests people the most likely call while Caller ID by Google matches an incoming phone number to a business even if that number isn’t stored in the contact list. Users can send and receive text messages directly from Hangouts, and Hangouts for Android now supports location sharing.

With Gmail, Chrome, Calendar, Maps, Drive and Hangouts, Nexus 5 helps users manage their day-to-day lives with familiar, easy-to-use applications. With Google Now, initiating a voice search is as simple as saying “Ok, Google,” and with more than one million apps and games plus movies, books and music on Google Play, it’s easier than ever to find what you’re looking for.

Yeah, I know that but with the Quidco this works out cheaper.

CANNOT base a deal on Quidco unfortunately. Quidco is not guranteed.

I did not include it in the price.

When its released, would the 64gb oneplus one be a better deal at £269?

Thanks for posting the deal, it would be nice if people would actually read the post or stop to think before giving us the benefit of their knowledge (or lack of it).

I completely agree with Bolly....why do these people bother....note to them - are you familiar with the word Narcisitic?

specifically dedicated to Stray cat ...

Thanks chaps. I am glad that a few people were able to see that for those of us who use Quidco, this is the best deal available for a N5 right now. For a site about deals, there are a lot of people who struggle with maths on here.

one plus 1 looks good.

Is buying this outright the best way to go? Any good high/unlimited contracts people would recommend?

That Oneplus looks very interesting indeed. Cyanogenmod are cool.

@Crimsoneer, at the moment it looks to buy outright is the best option. I have been researching for the past few days and any contract will easily have at least £50 spent more in 24 months. By the way I'm on giffgaff.

I have this phone with three's one package. £15 month and I've never had a problem at all.

Nexus 4 then 5 and they've both been great.

The issue with the OnePlus One is that it is not out yet and we don't know when it is going to be out. Looks a great deal for sure but not much use if you can't buy it!

Report says June, however it will still be using invite system so doubt everyone will get one. The price drop to me indicates Nexus 6 is on the way.

has anyone any experience of the Huawei P6 please? thanks.

Off topic but does anyone have any experience of taking out a contract via this retailer? Like the look of the Nexus 5 with EE for £19pcm.

Don't base your decision around any cashback (either Quidco or redemption) and I hear they are fine. I would consider a deal with more data if getting a Nexus 5 though.

Thanks for the reply. You might have a point regarding data. 500MB is what I have my Samsung Galaxy S2 for the moment which seems fine.

Oh cool well if 500mb is fine on the S2 then should be fine on the N5 unless you plan any changes to the way you use your device.

most of these mobile direct companies are scammers imo. they offer low prices in the hopes that you'll fail to meet the terms of their cashback offers - which often involves applying for the cashback multiple times (not just once), or you'll simply forget. they also auto-enroll you into things like gadget repair protection for more than the cost of the contract, which if you don't cancel, you again get dinged for. so be careful.

I am suspicious of the low price. There is no cash back to have to remember though.

Price is not that low for only 500mb. Check Trust Pilot reviews for Mobile Phones Direct. They are fine apart from cashback issues.

Just a warning, although I have no personal experience with Mobile Phones Direct, after a quick Google there is quite a lot of less than positive feedback out there on the forums.

Again, no personal experience, but worth having a quick research so you can decide for yourself/make an informed purchase!
