Also Asus Google Nexus 7 by ASUS, 32GB £166.65 ex VAT only.

That is rather good. Is 16GB enough to use as an ereader? Also is the Android OS on this always trying to update/add some kind of Google service to the system when it connects to the internet?

is this any good?

Yes!

The only Android tablet worth buying in my opinion.

This is scalding! Cheapest since Game @ £149.99.

More than enough to use as an e-reader (expensive e-reader though)
You can turn the updates / auto sync off if you want.

This is a great tablet but there are a lot of great Android tablets out there now that allow you to do way more than you can with an ipad for instance. Android Tablets have really come of age.

Where is the deal? Im sure Ive seen it cheaper not long ago. Add VAT to get the real picture.

The £149.99 in the title includes the VAT (124.99 x 1.2).

I haven't seen anyone post cheaper deals for this on here, at least for a brand new 2013 version Nexus 7.

So £140 ish

Hot

I like the new Nexus 7 very much, has a very nice slim size, compared to its predecessor and Hudl, etc.

I wouldn't personally bother though, as I use a tablet mainly for video, and in some ways the Hudl beats it with the removable sd card, blinkbox, etc. both have very good iplayer apps. The Hudl can be a real drag in almost every other way though, and the Nexus 7 flies, I would recommend for others.

Edit...seems to be £3.55 delivery too...

Doubt it, haven't seen the 16GB cheaper than £149 before, unless you can enlighten us?

However, retailers do seem to be discounting the Nexus 2013 now with the updated 8" model not too far away apparently.

I'd also consider this.

6% cashback with Quidco too making it £141. Incredible!

Ordinarily I'd recommend the HUDL for a cheap 7" Android, however a 2013 under £150 would be a no brainer unless you were doubling up clubcard vouchers for the HUDL. If Santa hadn't bought me a Nook HD+ i'd have been all over this like a rash.

Heated.

Well show it cheaper elsewhere in your own posting.

Should be the normal price really. Wife got one for £149 from game a couple of months back, brilliant little tablet, screen as good as that on my surface pro, yet cost half the price. Just a shame android needs a quad core to keep things smooth, still a good few years behind MS in that department.

Agree totally. My next tab and phone will almost certainly be Windows based, with full fat for the tab. The pro2 is gorgeous but a little too expensive for my needs.

Anyone tried to get JL to price match staples? They should and you'll get an extra years guarantee.

Well for an extra year's g'tee it's worth a try.

Biggest problem with JL price match is how long it takes - usually 12-24hours - by which time the orig deal may be oos or increased in price - in which case JL politely tell to procrastinate and travel.

Hm, this or the tab 8? And the tab 8 seems to have gone up to 199 everywhere!

Absolutely, text docs take up very little space in comparison to photos and videos. You don't get 16GB though, more likely around 12GB. It's easily enough.

STAPLES PRICE MATCH!!

Don't forget they now have a 14 day Price Match policy too, so if you have purchased from Staples in the last 2 wks ring them.
I bought this from Staples on Tuesday so I just rang them and they are refunding the difference!

Just wish my TCB had tracked always fails for me on big purchases / insurance etc. and tracks fine on small everyday purchases - flippin typical so put a ticket in for it.
Edited by: "ooop7" 13th Mar 2014

john lewis just price matched this for me.

Can get a Tegra Note for £140

MUCH faster

7" is just not big enough for me

john lewis just price matched this for me.

Only think about that is no Cashback.....I suppose the extra 1 year Guarantee covers that though?

I was "considering!" asking them to Price Match and buy then send that New unopened one back to Staples as I have already set mine up I bought from them!

Would they know any difference / do they check serial number or anything like that?
