Probably. I got my mum one from Amazon and it was £179.

Ebuyer same at £179 so looks like a good deal

this is a great deal considering it costs 199 at play store.

worth waiting for a hopefully cheaper price or purchase now ?! decisions decisions

Won't let me buy, getting a 'sorry you cannot buy this deal' message

I'm always torn between what is the cheapest deal and what is the best deal. Would somewhere else be a better place to buy from and potentially return to for an extra £10? I'm not saying that is the case here - just a view.

I managed to buy one for £150 from that Game deal. This is the cheapest I have seen it since though.
Great tablet, well worth every penny.

Best price I've seen since the £129 deal from John Lewis.

Does this come with official warranty?

just bought one, this is really a hot deal,

I thought this was the better option for customer peace of mind. Although a bit of work in having to call the local game store and then applying for a price match with John Lewis. As you say though, if John Lewis hadn't price matched I was going to pay £10 more from Asda for better aftercare.

I used them for a Groupon deal for a Canon L lens. It was a grey import from Hong Kong. It came in a plain white box with no English warranty card/instructions (or lens hood or pouch).

I sent it them back, customer service was ok but replies to emails take a while. Had to get Groupon to chase them for me.

I bought this from the same deal last November. I believe it is still the best deal at the moment. I suspect the tablet is the French or Canadian version, because the labels are in French and English. The original power plug has been taken out of the box and a separate Samsung branded UK power plug was provided in the parcel.

There are currently some unsolved issues with the touch screen of Nexus 7. The screen was unresponsive quite often when I first received it. After upgrading the system, it became better but I still need to touch a few times to get it respond occasionally. Search on Google, you will find that this is a common problem, and other users have reported ghosting issues with the screen which i don't have. Some suggest it is a hardware issue and instructions to fix it is on youtube (but it doesn't seem to work for everyone). I have contacted Photo-Direct, a registered business seller on eBay and where the deal comes from, for a replacement. They replied back after 7 days and seems to have accepted my request. Hope it goes well.

It is a good tablet in terms of everything else.

Do you reckon this could be the the same. Will it be a genuine UK Unit?

Photo Direct trade on E Bay with the seller name Photodirect and are based here:
Photo Direct
Unit 10 Albion Park
Warrington Road
Glazebury
Cheshire
WA3 5PG
United Kingdom

but show a London phone number 442030023759 as the customer contact.

They don't appear to have a website - at least not using their e mail domain.
Over 35000 feedback, 98.6 positive. If you 'walk' around their address on Streetview you see a small industrial estate - not able to see what name Unit 10 has on it.

Some people are saying this tablet has horrible PWM flickering when the brightness is low. Is this true? I will never buy it if it has.

Warning!

This has been posted before and I ordered one (remember quidco) and after three weeks and many phone calls and emails I never received my Nexus 7. Photo Direct never had these in stock when I ordered and promised delivery by a certain date and then on that date there was another excuse! My advice if you do buy is to use a credit card linked to PayPal and pay that way on Groupon. You have plenty of security if you end up wanting your money back like I did.

I have got one with 2 years guarantee from JL, it's brand new in not-opened box, got Christmas present but just wants to buy Nexus 5. Make me decent offer and it will yours.

Actually Section 75 protection via Paypal is a little unclear isn't it. The gathered wisdom - via Google - as far as I can see is that it doesn't apply as the credit card company doesn't have the relationship with the supplier because Paypal does. Paypal of course does offer some forms of protection but my experience ( not on a Section 75) is that they're not the easiest organisation to deal with!

You sure about that. i thought you're not covered that way.

Your credit card transaction is then with PayPal. Anybody else is a 3rd party and the credit card company won't have anything to deal with. It becomes a PayPal/Groupon transaction.

I'm tempted to buy this but I think i can get the iPad Mini (non-Retina) for £205 from Currys. Might eb worth forking out the extra £35

Hot. But as a owner of the 32gb version i highly recommend that in this place if you watch a lot of media in HD. Do the math, a single HD Show is 1.3 Gb approx, on this tab you will fit only 10. Now i know people are going to say you can use the OTG cable, yes you can, i do. However it is still a nuisance but still a handy way to get extra storage. For people who stream and/or dont store music/videos directly do the tablet this is a great buy at this price.

Known hissing noise on low volume but doesn't bother me as mines is always fully turned up or my headphones are in.

The same company is selling an ipad mini for £204 on ebay:

(photodirect)

Also 7% Quidco. Another 10 quid off.

Its merely a warning as this was posted before and myself and many others never received our Nexus we ordered via Groupon. It took a lot of phone calls to get my refund and I also started a resolution center on paypal at the same time when I was ready for a refund.

good deal

No owner can answer whether this tablet suffers from PWM screen flicker? I guess that means it suffers from it and as a result it's a load of crap. Hope the tegra note isn't as bad.

anyone got theres yet? said 5 days delivery should be here by now

Just cancelled mine as I got photo-direct to confirm that they are a US company, with a UK warehouse, so it's US import kit, not UK...

Cancelling was as easy as you like. Just 'phoned Groupon, and was done and dusted within 3 minutes. Already have the money refunded via PayPal onto the credit card.

Off to John Lewis this afternoon to pay UK RRP, but with a 2 year warranty, not the standard 1 year
