We've just had word from ASUS that the 16GB variant of the Nexus 7 will arrive on UK shelves on July 27th -- slightly later than the 8GB model, which will be sold exclusively through Google Play from mid-July. Brits are looking at £159 for the 8GB tablet and £199 for 16GB. The latter is actually shipping to big stores like PC World, Comet, Tesco and eBuyer around July 20th, so those who pre-order may end up signing for that Special Delivery even earlier.
Update: the 16GB slate will also be sold through Carphone Warehouse, either for the same price as above or free on a tethered contract (but check those sums before signing up, obviously).

This just killed of Chinese tablets sales at these prices
You seem to be confusing a discounted RRP with a hot deal - a product can be a good deal at RRP if it is cheaper than other comparable products - conversely a product with a half price RRP can be a bad deal if it is more expensive than other comparable products.
All we need now is for Apple to introduce both those on an iPad, so that all the Apple fanatics who suggested those features weren't important can proclaim the second coming, and the circle of hypocrisy will be complete

Well done on being the first idiot I've used the ignore button for on here.
if you read some of these links then you might see there are other fruits around too that might be equally good or better suited to many peoples needs and budget!

" The Nexus 7's quad-core Tegra 3 processor delivers fast performance and a beautiful and responsive screen. Also, it's comfortable to hold and Android 4.1 brings a surplus of welcome additions. At only $200, the Nexus 7 is a steal."
other reviews from various tech websites or news related websites as below

engadget.com/201…ew/ "the best $200 tablet you can buy"
theverge.com/201…iew
"Google’s Nexus 7 isn’t just an excellent tablet for $200. It’s an excellent tablet, period. In fact, it’s the first Android tablet that I can confidently recommend to buyers — and not just because it’s got a low price tag (though that certainly helps). It’s a well-designed, powerful, and useful product, with lots of bells and whistles that makes it feel like a device that should be more expensive than it is. "
slashgear.com/goo…14/
"With the iPad and the Amazon Kindle Fire being this device’s biggest competitors, you’ll want to know: which one is worth buying? There’s no perfect answer, but if I had a choice between the three and would get the chosen product for free, I’d of course pick the iPad – it costs more than 2 times this device’s base price for a reason. If I had to choose between the Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire, I’d not think twice about picking the Google product. Every single feature on this tablet, unless you’re an Amazon junkie, is better than the Fire. ....
Consider this tablet the next time you’re getting prepped for a new tablet experience, and one that’s inexpensive enough to toss down a couple of bills without hesitation. Hackers – this is your key to the future, there’s no other choice."
anandtech.com/sho…iew
"Honestly I think ASUS and Google have really done an excellent job here with the Nexus 7. The combination of a quad core SoC, IPS panel, solid construction, and the latest version of Android all for such a killer price point pretty much make it hard to really find any faults. Sure, it'd be useful to have a full size USB host port, microSD slot (though no Nexus has shipped with one since Nexus S), 5 GHz WiFi (Nexus 7 is 2.4 GHz only), or cellular, but the tablet wouldn't be $199 anymore. I also really feel like the 7 inch diagonal form factor is an ideal one, and the Nexus 7 is quickly growing on me."
gizmodo.com/592…let
"the new Nexus 7 tablet. It's light, it's compact, and holy crap, it's faster than hell. In short, you won't believe this is a $200 tablet."
" There is zero reason to buy a Kindle Fire over this. It's brighter, sharper, faster, and infinitely more capable."
gizmodo.com/592…cks
"Should I Buy It?
Totally. At $200 there is pretty much no reason to buy a Kindle Fire at all. If you love reading Kindle Books and listening to Amazon MP3, you just install those apps and you're good to go. It also gives the iPad a good run for its money. You can argue that the iPad is a better tablet, but is it really $300 better? As useful as tablets are, they're still kind of luxury items. $200 for a full-fledged, seriously-spec'd, fully-capable tablet is an absolute steal. Get it. Seriously. "
mashable.com/201…ew/
"However, is the iPad really $300 better than the Nexus 7? That’s a really tough case to make, even considering the superior screen, music catalog and app selection. Think about it — for the same price as an iPad, you’ll get a Nexus 7 — plus one of these: 75 HD movie rentals, 150 TV episodes, 232 songs, 23 books, or between 75 and 300 magazine issues.
The Nexus 7 may not be the best tablet ever built, but its media savviness and low price make it a crowd-pleaser. For the vast majority of people, it’s more than good enough, and if you aren’t yet married to the Apple platform, you should be pre-ordering one now."
ubergizmo.com/201…ew/
"The Nexus 7 is the absolute best 7” tablet . With no questions it offers way more bang for the buck than the Kindle Fire.
Tablets are mostly used for entertainment, and Google pushed the envelope on that front like there is no tomorrow, making sacrifices in the right places, like going with only one front camera and providing only 2 ports."
pcmag.com/art…asp
"Google and Asus smack it out of the park with the Nexus 7, a terrific small-screen tablet that's an incredible value at $200."
technologyreview.com/new…et/
"Let's be clear: the Nexus 7 is probably not going to take much market share away from the iPad. If you really want an iPad, you're going to get one (or whine and beg until someone gets one for you). But if you want a tablet without making so much of a financial commitment, the Nexus 7 is the best choice on the market."
betanews.com/201…ew/
"Nexus 7 isn't for everyone, but it is for anyone looking to spend $249 or less on a tablet or one that offers sound performance and 7-inch display."

"With Google Now, Android Puts Apple's Siri To Shame"
techcrunch.com/201…ew/
"Look, if you’re looking for a 7-inch tablet or any tablet of the Android variety, you’d be hard pressed to find anything better than the Nexus 7."
androidcentral.com/nex…iew
"The Nexus 7 doesn't bring a compelling reason to "go Google" when considering a tablet purchase like we were hoping. But the hardware and software on the Nexus 7 make it a very interesting piece of gear, and when the price is factored into the equation, there's simply not a better tablet for the money available from anyone, anywhere. Stock Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and updates direct from Google are icing on the cake. I would recommend the Nexus 7 to anyone and feel good about handing out that advice."
ps: if any one wants to rotate the home screen on the nexus 7 then the following app might interest them. its a 7 day trial and if you like it you can buy the full license via their other app play.google.com/sto…ate please note that it works presently only upto ICS and not jelly bean but surely the developer will update it soon in my opinion

No micro SD card slot.
Way to ruin a tablet Google.
Just like the Galaxy Nexus.
Does anyone know the advantage of not including expandable storage options? (aside from profit margins)
Unbelievable.

HOW DO I USE IT ON MY GALAXY NEXUS THEN.... O.O LOL
Not trolling, but I use a 32GB SD card on my 16 GB Galaxy Nexus with the StickMount App, no problems at all....

Who wants to look like a **** taking photos and videos with a 7 inch tablet anyway.
Quad core, better screen and higher resolution than any tablet around or anywhere near this price, whether generic Chinese or big branded. iPad deals go beyond 1000 degrees when there's 5% off so in comparison this is superb pricing..

Given that the Xoom is getting 4.1 as well, thats worth considering as an alternative.

no sd slot, its rrp not a deal, no sd slot, its rrp not a deal, definitely no sd slot, definitely not a deal
So i guess Google (the people that made android) are wrong too, as they are calling it jellybean also. But you think you are correct.
I dont know who to believe. I'll go with you as i think google have made a mistake as you said jellybean is android 5.
and a door.
