But this deal has bugger all to do with the Moto G5. Its a pixel 2 deal.

I'm sure next you'll be posting on a Mercedes AMG deal about how your robin reliant is cheaper to run and insure.

Have the Pixel 2 XL. The screen seems fine to me, has a blue tint on white background when tilting and looking at it, but upon checking so did my Galaxy S7. In normal use you do not notice this. Other than that the phone is unbelievable and much better than the iPhone X which has now been returned. Stand out features include:
1. It's different. Someone asked me if it was iPhone X I said no! Everyone then likes to look at it.
2. Camera is amazing, it just has an edge over the X, in that photos from X looked like good phone photos, this looks like a good SLR. Hard to explain until you see them side by side. I've had astonishing shots out of this that just delight. That's what's missing on the X photos, that delight factor. Just went to a concert and sent a friend who came the photos on WhatsApp who said 'your phone is amazing.'
3. Battery- I'm getting up to 36 hours but over 24.
4. OS. Having come from Samsung and iPhones this is like night and day. Much smoother than Samsung, it's very very slick, like using iOS (even has notifications on icons). But it's much more customisable and powerful than iOS. Only when you use it do you appreciate all the nuances.
5. All that free full resolution photo and video storage.
6. Immediate updates.
7. Google assistant. This for me is the stand out feature and squeezing the phone sets it off. 95% of the time it answers you correctly. It even understands sequential questions. It even helped me diagnose a problem when connecting Bluetooth headphones and switched on pairing. It is amazingly good, I hardly ever type messages now.
If I didn't want the XL I'd pick up the standard one in a heartbeat and live with its iPhonesque 8 styling.

Wow! 6gb data. Great deal!

Will Vodafone directly price match? due an upgrade on my sim only deal.

Will Vodafone directly price match? due an upgrade on my sim only deal.

I think it's very unlikely they'll match the deal but it's worth asking them. I left Three network when they refused to get anywhere near matching a deal from mobiles.co.uk. They tried to make me feel guilty about using a broker website because they claimed they couldn't offer the same rates?! This website is owned by carphone warehouse so if there's any issues you can take it to one of their shops.

ffuuudge this is an amazing deal! anyone had any issues with vodafone? been on EE/orange for over 10 years so never wanted to change, will call EE tomorrow to see if they can come close to matching if not, probably going to go for this..

Now ee is not price match with interest offers.

Hot ...

Anything above £400 is cold for that defective failure made of greed. Please don't support Google taking a p|ss second year in a row.

Slighlty borong looking phone, sorry, someone had to say it

Performance of this camera just smashed your negative opinions with one click!

Thanks ! Will notify EE of a contract being terminated or a price match

Its a great deal however was hoping for more data and vodafone isnt that great where i live, i would say its the worst of the big four. Anyone spotted any more pixel 2 deals?

This or an iPhone 8?

It's a good deal considering how expensive that phone is, therefore I will vot hot.

But I'm not buying it despite I wanted to have the smartphone with the best camera out there. Why?
1- It doesn't have a 3.5mm jack, which means that way too often I couldn't charge it and listen to spotify at the same time at work, and I'm not wiling to make such compromise if I'm going to spend more than £499.
2- 6gb of data wouldn't last me more than a week. I don't know how 6gb of data can be enough for some people in 2017.

I appreciate that there will be a small minority of users that will need more than 6gb but for the vast majority of us 6gb is a very generous monthly allowance. I have 5gb with my current contract, used daily for Waze & Spotify (3 hr commute time) and watching the odd YouTube video on my break, WiFi at home, never gone about 2.5gb in any month.

I just checked my data stats thinking that Spotify would be the main reason why I use so much data, but it's not! The main reason why I use so much data is Google Photos backup feature (probably because I have been on holidays recently so took lot of photos)!

But anyway, just considering Spotifty alone, which is a mainstream app, I use around 10gb of data per month....

Cost over 24 months for your contract is 630. This is 698 for a MUCH better phone.

Of course it has less data, but for many (and if you check your actual usage data as I did a few months ago you will be outraged at paying for so much) it’s unnecessary to have so much.

By comparison your deal is much colder as you are paying 20 quid just to use the network with no asset at the end. Just the moto G which will be worth less than fifty quid.

two years on the pixel 2 will be going for at least 200 second hand.

No coincidence that most people trashing the pixel series always seem to have a massively inferior device which indicates they have no need or appreciation of performance

There are some great cheap android devices, but nothing compares to the pixel line when it comes to smoothness and camera performance

It's also the only device in which chrome isn't a stutter mess

With no dual SIM or expandable store and only 6gb of data... Would last a week tops for me... I need a top range phone with dual SIM, expandable storage is a must constantly having to free space when I have 150gb and minimum 30gb data

Personally I would need more than 6 GB. Most people do not though.

If this was on EE I would jump on it so quickly it'll leave a dent.
How are people's general experience of network coverage with Vodafone? It is highly subjective but I know on metrics they are still behind EE but around level with O2.

Anyone having issues with their order from mobiles.co.uk? Ordered pixel 2 on friday, got initial order acknowledgment but then nothing and cannot log into account. Weird.

Although the XL is not made by the same assembler so they are slightly different animals. Quite a bit of your post is opinion too rather than fact for instance I still think iOS is better

Great deal, personally I like the pixel range as you know you will get timely security updates for 3 years and guaranteed version updates for 2-3 years. Also lack of bloat even if that is at the expense of nifty features like Samsung’s Gear VR. For me the data would be fine as I imagine it would be for many peeps. Considering the price of the IPhone X I can see many people switching...

Mine was delivered yesterday. Ordered around the time this was posted Thursday evening.

Purchased this, but Topcashback is only tracking it as £10 - anyone know how I've messed it up?

Thanks, emails coming through now, Pixel 2 is on it's way! Probably things were overloaded on Friday

Ordered mine tonight. Bargain for this device.

Good deal, tried getting EE to price match they couldn't come close - best was £33 per month with £150 upfront.

On a side, if you use the code
VC15OFF

You get £15 off instead of the £10 with black Friday.

Extra £5 towards some headphones I guess....

Do anyone have a sim-free deal for the pixel 2 ?

Have you used the Pixel 2 over a period of time? If yes, then you are of course entitled to your opinion. If no, then you haven't used this Android experience which is totally different to, say, Samsung Galaxy and is in a different league all together. I have iOS devices including a 10" iPad pro (Apple best tablets hands down) and have had many iPhones, and for the foreseeable future after using this 2 XL for 3 weeks, I will not even consider any other phone than a Pixel now.

Great deal but pity it doesn't have expandable storage. Great deal for folk who don't store a lot of music and videos on the phone!.

This or an iPhone 8?

Personcally I think its just down to preference on the OS. For me it would be the Pixel. I think Apple have the better hardware, other than camera quality, but the OS is really where the iPhone falls short for me.
